I done a factory reset on my acer laptop and for about 30 or 45 mins now its been stuck on the last step installing sysprep factory mode with three dots behind that keeping counting. should i worry ?

First, BACKUP WHAT YOU WANT!!!!! IT WILL BE GONE WHEN YOU FINISH!!!!! If you cannot get to your files, start in safe mode and collect them. if you cannot get to safe mode. grab a linux live cd, such as knoppix, you can boot a whole linux os from cd without installing and retrieve your files VIRUS FREE!!!!! once you feel you have backed up what you want to keep follow these insructions.

    • 1 Reboot your computer. As the computer comes on, click the "F2" key on your keyboard. This will activate the BIOS utility screen.
    • 2 Locate the Acer disk-to-disk recovery system on the first screen of BIOS and click the box to enable it. This will allow you to reset the computer without a recovery disk. Save your settings and exit BIOS per the instructions on the screen.

    • 3 Restart the computer.
    • 4 Press "ALT + F10" on your keyboard as soon as the Acer logo appears on the screen.
    • 5 Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a system recovery and reset the computer to the factory default settings.

Reset Windows password

I also forgot my Acer laptop Windows password last week, and my friend help me reset windows password with a tool called Windows Password Reset , just need 3 steps and a few minutes to reset it.

Here are the steps:
Step1:Download Windows Password Reset from and install it.
Step2:Burn Windows Password Reset ISO file to CD/DVD,or USB.
Step3:Put in your newly created CD and remove your Windows Password.

Restore Acer Aspire ONE D150-1165 Netbook

On help and support menu, type restore system. You will get an option to what date your OS will restored. Make sure you decide the correct date ( when the OS is still working fine). Key in the date ( or choose the preset date) the enter. Wait for process done completely. Your OS should be restored now.

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

How can i restore a acer aspire one d150

Hi , maybe this might work for your acer,
Go to acer recovery.This can be done by hitting Alt & F10 together as soon as the computer starts.
Hit hard disc recovery.
Follow the instructions and this will format the drive and reinstall the factory settings. hope this helps

How do i restore my lasptop to the factory settings

To restore your acer to its factory installation status (formats C: and removes all data) press ALT and F10 repeatedly on first boot. This should take you to the acer restore program which is partioned onto the hard drive.
Alternatively use the acer e recovery program to create a set of boot disks which will allow the same operation.

the above application can be found on a Windows XP installation cd-rom under support and inside deploy.cab which can be extracted using windows.
