Judy, Generac portable generator oil recommendations. Above 40°F, use SAE 30. Below 40°F and down to 10°F, use 10W-30. Below 10°F, use synthetic 5W-30. Oil should be changed after the first 8 hours of operation and every 200 hours of run time thereafter.

How to find parts for Generac RV generator that was discontinued in 2012? Generator smokes. Maybe oil level too high, fuel maybe leaking into oil. How do I fix this? Tune up parts available? Hopeless?

Do you have maintenance manual? When you buy the generator, it must have manual. If the manual do not say about it, you are better to contact your supplier, then you tell details with them. Because different situation, will use different solutions. If you need to purchase new diesel generator set infuture, maybe you can visit : wwww.dieselgeneratortech.com, they have focused on high quality generator for 40 years. Contact company, they should be able to answer this. Rule of thumb 10-30 is a good all around oil.

How do I remove and oil seal from a generac 20 kw set

The flywheel side or the PTO side? In either case you need to disassemble the unit to get at the end and then use a hook to pull the seal out.

Generac generator will start, run for a moment and then shut down,Carb problem or bad low oil switch?

It is rather the oil switch or its level sensor, because the carb should not let it start.
