To install a different language - Multilingual User Interface (MUI) - you need to have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate
Type Anytime Upgrade in the Search programs and files box in the Start menu and click on the Windows Anytime Upgrade icon. From there, you can buy an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Then your can enter your Anytime Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate so you can install a different language.

If you are in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US you can use Anytime Upgrade. If not you will need to buy Windows 7 Ultimate, or buy Windows 7 in the language you need.

1. Start -> All Programs --> Windows Update --> Optional Updates.
2. Open optional Updates and go to the section Windows 7 Language Packs.

How to change the Windows 7 Display Language:

Please visit this page on the Asus website then choose Notebook for products, K60 for series, and K60IJ for models.
Click Search, then choose your operating system ( Windows 7), click OK and the manuals are available at the bottom of the list under the Manual section.
There are two manuals for the English version available for download.

This will resolve the issue you are facing.

On this Dell, did you run the upgrade advisor before you performed the upgrade? The memory requirements and the CPU requirements for Windows 7 are quite different (I know I have a Dell 1525 from XP to Vista and it failed the Windows 7 upgrade advisor) . I run Windows 7 on a spanking new Lenovo intel core i7 enhanced experienced, and I still experience similar problems to that you describe.

The solution is to separate those of 64 bit and that many programs require being run in 'Windows XX' mode - which you will find under the Control Panel, under 'Run Programs made for Previous Versions of Windows.

This may alleviate some of your troubles with the 'fade to white' and lack of response from the keyboard. Also, Don't 'pin to the start-uo menu any unneeded programs that are not tailored for Windows 7. That will create the same problem you described as well.

Yeah with new branded keyboards, such problems are occuring. This is because Windows XP can't detect the default software for these new-age hardware like USB-keyboard & mouse.

So for this problem you have two solutions, either download drivers for your keyboard from respective manufacturer's websites or simply upgrade your OS from XP to Vista or Windows 7.
