These scooters have a speed controller system that will only power the motor if you get it moving about 5 mph. It won't start moving from a dead stop.

Thanks for your help we've had the scooter for a year and haven't had this problem. It won't go at all and we can't manually reverse it. The throttle won't kick in at any speed. I'm thinking the motor has seized or something?

Try turning the motor's shaft by hand or with a pair of pliers. If it can spin, use a multimeter to test for output voltage from the motor (the motor generates electricity when it is turned, that's how the speed controller knows when to turn on). The speed controller is one of the things my kids don't like about their scooters. They wanna twist the throttle and just go.

Can I change it from a right hand throttle to a Left hand throttle?

Is it a twist throttle on the end of the handlebars or a thumb bar?
if it's a twist throttle on the end of a handlebar.....no, because the throttle will have to twist away from you if you put it on the left, so it's totally not practical. If it's a thumb bar, a general rewire of speed potentiometer behind the push bar for forward and reverse will change throttle over to the left push and reverse over to the right push.

My mini bike will start and idle but when i push the throttle it doesn't do anything

check that the cable from throttle to carb is properly attached at both ends. you can do this by looking at the carb with the air filter removed. twist the throttle while looking into the carb. it should look like this.

if the bike throttles up, but just does not move, you need a new one of these called a Centrifugal Clutch.

I have a 240W electric scooter with 12V X 4 batteries of 20AH each. The battery current meter, headlamp, trafficator lights, horn etc work. Throttle does not produce motor rotation. All connections checked....

Make sure that the manual brake release/freewheel lever is enaged as if it is not, this will allow you to push the scooter, but will not engage the drive motors. It is usually located on the rear of the vehicle; check your owner's manual.
If this does not work, contact the manufacturer for additional troubleshooting.
Good luck!

Poor starter, plug gets wet, starts when bumstarted

First, get a fresh sparkplug. Next, charge the battery. Batteries usually only last two years or less. A battery that will not hold a charge will rob electricity needed for spark. On a bump start, the flywheel generates more electricity than a kick start. Give the throttle only one twist on your morning start if your bike has a power valve. The valve gives a shot of gas when the throttle is turned. Twist too much and the engine will flood. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Twist button.

Throttle tube has either become damaged (hidden by the grip) or has been pushed inwards when you fell. Loosen housing bolts on the clamp and slide the whole thing a few mm's outwards..prob just the grip fouling on the end of the bars.

I need a schematic for the x-treme scooter

Check the batteries, they need at least 12+volts to run scooter. Blinker may be burned out or the wire came loose. If batteries are charged Two things That could be wrong are: Twist throttle is NO Good, Or the controller is BAD. You need a voltage tester, (Disconnect the Wiring Harnesses) and check voltages coming out of the controller(the silver BOX with lots of wires) and see if it is sending voltage to the twist throttle. Controller wires to the Twist throttle should read 4-5 volts.

(Make Sure You Unplugged That Wiring Harness) There is 4-6 wires in that Wiring Harness then find + and - test them for voltage from that Controller box wiring harness. If You get a positive reading out of that Controller wiring harness then the Twist Throttle thing is bad. If you get NO READING out of that Controller Wiring Harness Then if is BAD. Normally it will be the dead batteries or the Twist Throttle that go bad. Batteries are expensive, Twist Throttle Cheap. Good LUCK
