ive had some dealings with kicker equipment before (I prefer not too) they don't put anything (savior devices) inside there items to prevent a show of sparks when they aren't connected up to power the right way , Hope it wasn't too expensive !!!

If you have connected the power supply up backwards (crossed over plus to minus ) then im afraid you've damaged it internally , but if you have only connected the speakers backwards , that's not too bad . unpower it and ck your wiring to the speakers make sure all the speakers red or + goes to the positive or + on the amp and the negative goes to the other terminal

OOhh!!! well then the technical description of what maybe wrong is the semiconductors have been reversed in there polarity and have drawn infinite current thru there P/N junctions and quickly overheated to the point of becoming now a full conductor , now no longer a semiconductor anymore

  • Anonymous Apr 25, 2016

Ok so can there polarity be reversed again or do I need new semiconductors. Also which thing is the semiconductors do I just solder new ones on there and where can I get the new conduct

My kicker amp is old but worked great. i hooked it up yesterday and it was fine, then just quit. the green lights still on though. could it be fried ?

mine kind of did same thing was working fine, then intermittenly, then not at all. took it apart today and two transistors are blown. might check those. take cover off bottom, then the aluminum plates towards the outer edges of circuit board. transistors are under those plates. look for any that are burnt. Can buy new ones for like 2-3 bucks, solder em in, and you're good to go. they fry from amp getting too hot. could be from running it too long or wiring it up at too low of an impedence level, making it run much harder and hotter.

I have 1500 kicker amp and 2 15L7 4oh want to hook up

you can't get full power out of it because those subs can be wired series/parrallel to a 1 ohm load or just series to a 4 ohm load and you don't want to put a 1 ohm load on this amp... you need dual 2 ohm subs for this amp... I have the same setup but with dual 2 ohm subs and it is rediculous... you need to buy different subs that are dual 2 ohm or buy an amp that is stable at 1 ohm... you will only get 750 rms out of a kicker 1500.1 at 4 ohms so u will do more harm than good to your subs.
