Just replaced carb new spark plug and new gas line. Will start and run for 2 minutes . When you press the throttle it dies and won't start again. Same problem I had before replacing carb.

Rick if you are sure it is fuel related issue, does sound like it may be running out of fuel. Check the fuel filter in the gas tank and replace, also check the fuel tank cap as the vent in it may be plugged, which will cause this issue.
A similar issue to this, is when the muffler screen gets plugged with carbon on some models. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Troy-Bilt Hand-Held Blower dies when warm and throttle wide open

You reported that most of the items I would've suggested, you have checked...
Good job.
A couple more things:
  • Replace fuel filter, it's in the gas tank
  • Check and clean the Spark Arrestor screen at muffler, when they plug up, it's a major restriction to exhaust gas flow
  • And check and adjust High/Low screws at carburetor, video attached.
  • And clean or install rebuild kit for carburetor
Good luck...

Johnson outboard stalls when it warms up

Little Johnson outboards are famous for being very easy to start, So- first pump up the gas, then set the throttle open to the neutral stop -pull thru once -then set the choke to fully closed (look down the carb and see if it is) and pull thru 2 more times- open the choke. try again --If it is not running by now you have a bad ignition, or the engine has no compression. - very likely if you are running the wrong spark plugs. You may have some shattered reed valves.

See if the spark plugs are getting wet with fuel.

What should I do with my husqvarna 130BT because I put in too much oil with the gas and it won't start?

First, you need to dump all of the fuel out of the gas tank, Preferrably into a gas container. If you know how much oil you dumped in, you can calculate how much more gas to add. You could also just dump the gas, re-mix some new gas and oil, whichever you prefer.

If you are comfortable doing this, remove the fuel lines going to the carberator and let them drain into a pan. Pump the fuel primer to purge the gas out of the carburator, and then re-install the fuel lines. This might help you get it started a little faster, but its not necessary. You can burn the old gas in the engine at it will be fine.

Next, remove and replace the spark plug. Its probably fowled out with too much oil. Keep a can of carb cleaner and a small wire brush handy, you may need to clean the spark plug a couple times. If it gets too dirty, you can replace the spark plug with a new one. Do not burn Carb Cleaner in your engine for long periods of time, it will damage the engine.

After you have installed the spark plug and put some correctly mixed gas in the tank, Try to start the engine again. There will be some residual fuel in the fuel lines going to the carberator, so you will need to burn off that gas.

If you can't get it to start, try these steps:
Choke off, throttle wide open, crank several times. (or let it sit in the sun for a couple hours) (this corrects flooding)
Prime carberatur, Choke full on, throddle idle position, crank until it fires once but does not start.
Choke half, crank until it fires again or starts.
If it starts skip this step: (Choke off, crank until it starts).
Keep the choke on half for about 10 seconds and let it idle.
Put the choke off and let the engine warm up for a couple minutes.
After warmup, test the throttle to see if it will run at full throttle (it may take some fluttering until the engine is fully warmed up)

Let the engine run at full throttle for a few minutes. The exhaust may be a little more blue-smokey than normal...this is the excess oil burning...totally normal and harmless.

Toro model #51932 won't idle, runs fine above idle

hello sir, my machine will only start when pumping primmer bulb or squirting fluid in the carburetor than stops. the fuel line has broken off, in most small carburetors this is a ongoing problem.old fuel will crystallize when left in tank for a long time.plugging up ports, fuel lines, small screen in carburetor.fuel lines will dissolve clogging carb.this is why it will run when the choke is on creating a vacuum to where there is fuel forced in the carb to rum, also the gas will evaporate leaving the oil behind clogging up carb.the thing to do is remove carb. and clean out, replacing gaskets or fuel line if necessary.use carb cleaner to clean out carb.make sure to make note where fuel line go.the fuel filter broke off of fuel line letting debris get in carb plugging it up.the muffler is known to clog up a lot on these machines where they want run. the compression should be 60 to 120 lbs any thing below 60 is junk. when adjusting the carb screws turn in all the way than turnout 1 1/4 turns turn in slow until machine runs also you need to check for spark by removing plug and grounding against engine to check spark, ok.a new spark plug would be a good ideal too , if you are going to make these repairs use new fuel line and filter, hope this helps, any comments welcome, thank you, ==

I have a 2 cycle Troy-Bilt TB90BC line trimmer. Won't idle. I've had the carburetor dipped, installed a new carb kit, replace the gas lines, but will only run at full speeds. Dies out easily....

One of three things is occuring here. The IDLE SPEED SCREW (Phillips head) on the throttle plate is screwed in way too far. The L and H mixture screws are open way too much allowing the carb to use excessive fuel, even on startup. Those 2 screws may need adjusting. The metering lever in your carb is not adjusted flush with the carb body flange and is holding the gas needle open constantly. Check these things and post back.

Trimmer puking gas out carb!

You could have a bad pump daiphram, which is holding the needle valve open. You can try rebuilding carb.or just replace carb. that is the easiest way.
