I would do it the very old fashion way, but I know it will work on any calculator;)
3.45 x 10 x/y (x to the power of y) (11+/-) /* this should get you the number inside the bracket */
log /* this should give you the log of the bracket */
*1 +/- = /* this should give you the answer*/

Does it work on your calculator? We should get the same answers. My concern was whether you need or don't need equals signs after the statements. When you put the bracket part in, it should be 10 zeros after the decimal place and then the 345. Let me know!
