This can be a frustrating problem. Sorry you are having this. Number one and most important, is there a WiFi switch on the side or back of your computer? Some HP and Dell models have a slider switch that must be turned on before you can connect. After that follow these steps if your computer does not automatically connect.
1. Go to the Windows button (rainbow colored window) in lower left hand side of computer. Click
2. See "Control Panel" and click it or type in Control Panel.
3. Click Network and Security
4. Click Connect to a Network that you want to connect to. For example click Home 8405
5. You will be asked to enter a Security Key which is like the password for the network. Push return and you should be connected.
Your WiFi light should be blue instead of orange
On the lower right hand side of your computer you will see some bars next to the speaker (sound) icon. Click those bars and it will tell you if you are connected.
Good luck and happy surfing the Internet.
