The car has no hydro at all no lights on dash, no power anywhere as in no battery

Sounds like an inline fuse. check for fuses in cable wires. if not check connection under dash where wiring harness plugs in to steering column.

Make sure the battery is charged, if so check the connections. If both of those are good then check the power distribution system.

The fact that you can turn the engine but not get it to fire would suggest the battery is ok. The fact that you have no headlights, dash lights etc. would point to blown fuse/fuses. Even if the ignition switch was faulty you should still be able to switch the headlights on. I would check the fuses and the ignition switch wiring.

Check fusible links.

Check for a melted fuse box and wire located on top of the battery.

check the battery terminals then the fuse box under the bonnet by the battery

indicates a problem in the wiring harness under the dash to the switch or the switch

i would start by checking all the fuses first then make sure the battery connections are on correctly and are also clean and tight, you may have a bad starter but you should be getting power to headlights and dash lights, if theres no power anywhere but the rear door then theres a bad fuse somewhere, but if the headlights work and brake lights and dash lights and the heater blower motor all work then you may have a bad starter, make sure to have the key on when checking these things.

Check battery connections with a meter.

Check the wires and fuse links on the starter.
