SOURCE: Kitchen Aid coffee maker err2

An ERR 2 may be cleared by a simple reset of the coffee maker. This means unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. When powered back on, select a brew function to see if the error reappears. This may take a few seconds.

If it does, ERR 2 indicates an internal error with the computer of the warming plate. This may be covered under Kitchenaid's 1 Year Hassle Free Warranty. I would advise you to call Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what options are available to you. Repair is not recommended, as it is not cost effective for the company or the consumer.

Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-541-6390.

SOURCE: Coffee maker doesn't turn on when you flip the switch.

Hello evc622,
This is a really common problem with the cuisinarts. I am most familiar with the DCC-1200, but you may be able to solve the problem. The may be an indication that something is plugged up. Open the top of the unit and in one of the corners you should find a filter stick or column that is removable. Pull it out and open it up to clean out the clogged up carbon filter in there. (You can later buy a new filter on Amazon.) Clean out the debris from the bottom of the cavity. Replace the stick into the cavity once cleaned. Now it's time to run through a solution of 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Do this once or twice with fresh solutions, then with a pot of fresh water. When the filter stick is plugged up the sensor says its time to clean it or shuts the unit down, but most people don't know about this fix. I hope this is helpful to you, evc. Positive feedback is appreciated. Good luck. NormanZ

SOURCE: Coffee maker shuts off too soon after brewing.

Hello FloydBob, The Cuisinart DCC-1200 has the ability to program the auto-off function that keeps your coffee warmer plate on after brewing is complete.

The unit lets you select the time increments from zero up to 4 hours.

See page 6 of the attached manual for the full instructions for reprogramming the coffee maker.

To program the Variable Auto Off:
1. Turn the FUNCTION KNOB to the “Auto Off”
position. Press and hold the “Hour” button
for 2 seconds. The clock display will start
blinking.
2. Program the coffeemaker to shut off from
zero to four hours after brew cycle is
finished by using the “Hour” and “Minute”
push-buttons.

I figured you might also like to have a complete instruction/owners manual so you can have access for any other questions you might have about your coffee maker, in the future.

http://www.cuisinart.com/share/pdf/manuals/dcc-1200.pdf

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Relay Wiring tips and tricks Simple circut. What to look/lookout for

Typically if you want a circuit completed when energized you use C (Common) and NO (normally open). This means that the contact will close when energized and thus complete your circuit. However in some cases a relay is used to stop current from flowing and when energized the contacts used are C and NC (Normally Closed) meaning that the circuit is closed when the relay is off and open when energized.

Other things to consider if "rigging a new circuit".

More precisely, what exactly are you going to accomplish:
Turn On a motor, or light
Turn Off a motor, or light
or complete a timing sequence,
Turn On A heater
Lock out a motor
Isolate a motor

A simple relay works but you had better make sure 2 things 1. your relay is not TOO HEAVY on the VA of the coil (this would cause a control transformer to burn out) is the correct voltage coil, AND 2. BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT HP OR AMP DRAW your relay will be expected to hold while energized (or de-energized which ever the case may be). This latter is the contact rating. Too small and it will burn out. Too heavy, well I see not much trouble with too heavy a contact rating except it usually has heaver VA draw form the coil the bigger the contacts are.

DOes this help you?

My 02 Bonneville is having problems starting. When I turn the key nothing turns over... the radio comes on but nothing else will happen. At first if I waited 10-15 minutes it would start right up now it...

When you turn the ignition switch to start ,it sends 12 volt input to the PCM - engine computer . The PCM will then energize the start relay in the under hood fuse / relay distribution box.
Here is factory service info.
Circuit Description
Moving the ignition switch to the START position sends a 12 V signal to the PCM Ignition Crank Sense. The PCM verifies that the transmission is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position. The PCM then grounds the control circuit of the START relay. When the START relay is energized it allows battery positive voltage to the starter solenoid S terminal.

Try moving the gear selector to the neutral postion when it fails to start . To eliminate or confirm the park neutral safety switch as the problem . Are any lights lit on the insturment cluster ? Check engine , security ?

I bought a used stf 15 bunn coffee maker , i hooked it up to the water line , and plugged it in , my problem is that it will run about enough water for about 2 pots , i hear it click when the first pot...

Yes that is possible. There is a pressure regulator that is normally mounted on the back of the coffee maker. On older models the filter and pressure regulator may be inside the cabinet accessable by removing the bottom panel of the coffeemaker. The pressure regulator is a hexagon shaped usually brass fitting about 3 inches in length. The filter looks much the same. Both of these brass fittings should be somewhere in the water line between the wall faucet and the water inlet of the coffee maker. If not there the unit will overflow if you water pressure is over 40 psi in your location. These fittings are available from restaurant equipment stores and on Ebay for example. There is one other thing you may try. If you take off the panel directly behind the coffee pot you will see two adjustments. One is a temperature adjustment and looks like a small pin sticking up with a smaller pin at 90 degrees from it. The other adjustment is a timer. There will be a dial on the timer. This timer sets the amount of water per cycle by controlling the time that the fill valve stays open. Turn the timer counterclockwise by about 25% and hit the brew button again. If it overflows reduce the timer again. If you don't have a pressure regulator, you may not be able to turn the timer low enough to prevent the overflow situation. Good luck!

Trouble with the electric fan continue run when I turn off the motor

Hard to say without seeing. The fan is energized by a relay that is activated by several means. The relay could be sticking. One of the sensors that energizes the relay, is a switch to ground, at the bottom of the intake manifold. If the switch was changed out for a temp sensor it would stay on until the engine cooled. If the wire is chaffed and touching ground, the fan will stay on.

New starter relay installed. As soon a battery is

Your solenoid is not installed correctly. There is a battery side and a starter side ... there is a contactor inside. When you turn the key on, you actually energize an electric magnet that causes the contactor to complete the connection between the battery and the starter. Since your starter operates when the battery is connected, it seems to me that the electric magnet is energized incorrectly.

If so please rate me as high as you can. If not I will need to know more than what you have asked. Please be as speciffic as you can with clarity that you understand and post back. Thanks for using fixya.

Flashing Blue Light

I have found that if I turn off the machine for a few seconds and turn it back on, the burner seems to re-energize strongly and the water heats and a few minutes later, it seems as good as new. I know that this is not the the technical solution to the true underlying problem, but it keeps my old machine in the game.
