Without knowing where the sound is coming from, theres no way to know if it is important. Is it possible the noise is the ac clutch, and the ac compressor is locking up and killing the engine ?
There probably is a problem with your sound card. Go to Device Manager (start>programs>rightclick My Computer>hardware) and see if there is a yellow, red or black mark next to sound card. Click the "+" sign and click on update drivers...if that does not fix the problem then the sound card needs to be replaced..good luck. Let me know if you have any problems..
