If its the 2 wires that go into the switch block then you need to push a pin into the holes under the holes the wires are in, that will release the wires. you should tin the new wires then simply push them into the holes you took the old wires out of,they will automatically lock in place

Switch for hover mower 300mm 1250w

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Can we get a Make and model number please? I am searching for any brand of hover mower that is 1250W at the moment and there are at least 3 different brands:

This is the Flymo manual:
http://www.shop.flymo.co.uk/images/mediator/397/oipl2002_p0201018.pdf

This is the switch for the Flymo Hover mowers:
http://www.espares.co.uk/part/lawnmowers/flymo/turbo-compact-330/p/1116/283/116/402362/1136941/8a-250v-lawnmower-switch.html

This was my best mind reading guess. If this is not your brand then help us help you by responding with a make and model number please.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

sometimes you get an internal break of the electric feed cable which shorts out with movement and gives problem that you are having , another fault with them is that the switch has a safety machanism in it which can cut power for up to twenty minutes before it will reset which is done by operating lever as you would normally ,occurs a lot with m/cs used with adittional extension cables, hope this helps
