Hi,

Only fix is to enter service mode and when you exit it should remove the stored code and allow you to restart unit. If not and you are certified you can call the Tech Line for more assistance. 1-800-662-3587. They will ask you for there account number before helping you. First enter service mode, allow auto test as it will test door locks, fill, drain, and spin functions. When you exit after this test it should allow you to restart the unit as normal. Good Luck

I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

SOURCE: I can't unlock the door

fencer, you probably have a bad door lock switch. There was a technical bullitin out by Maytag regarding this (TS740). The deal is that the plunger of the switch is depressed but the contacts don't close. The machine control board senses the door is not locked and won't send the signal to unlock it. You can try to put the machine in the service mode by pressing delicates and heavy soils together for 3 seconds. Advance to the board output tests by then pressing rinse. After that press the max extract key to lock the door and the xtra rinse key to unlock the door. See if it works for you. You may want to call Maytag and inquire about the service bullitin, maybe you can get it covered. There is a manual door release in the dispenser section. The pull tab should be toward the front. You may have to remove the screws and remove the dispensor to get at it. Catriver...post back.

SOURCE: Door lock

Run a diagnostic on the door lock system; To place the unit in "service mode", close the door completely then press and hold both the "Delicates" and "Heavy Soils" keys for three seconds. Motor speed will be displayed. Press "rinse" to access the main board output function. Then press "max extract"... this is the test for the door lock. Did it lock? To exit, press "max extract" again and then both "Delicates" and "Heavy Soils" for three seconds. VOLTAGE TESTS AHEAD!!! IF YOU AREN'T SURE YOU CAN DO IT, THEN DON'T! CALL A PROFESSIONAL! If the door did not lock, you'll need a voltmeter and an hour or so. Open the door, remove the screws holding the door hinges, then remove the 2 screws (and shims) opposite the door hinges and close the door (do not take it off). Then grasp the front panel at the top near where it meets the top panel and pull toward you quickly. Lean it forward and remove it from the 2 clips at the bottom. Just below the top panel, now exposed, are the top panel retainers... use a 5/16" to remove the one screw on both sides and remove the retainer clips. Now lift the top panel up just like the hood of a car. You can now see the door latch assy. Remove the 2 wires on the solenoid and insert your meter probes into each one of them (color doesn't matter). Set your meter to read AC Voltage, then re-enter "Service Mode" and follow the steps to door lock test. When you hit the "Max Extract" key, 120 volts should be sent to the meter. If you get 120 volts, your latch assy. has failed and should be replaced. If you don't get 120 volts, your control board output has failed and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Door will not lock to start wash cycl

This sounds like a classic door lock problem. There was a design change in the lock assembly because of numerous problems.
You say you had the door replaced, did they replace the lock assy also?
The control puts power to the wax motor that operates the latch. As the door locks, the latch activates the lock switch that tells the control the door is locked.
What kind of reading are you getting on the lock switch?
Thanks/Mike

SOURCE: my Maytag front end loading washer is stuck locked

Open the detergen/bleach diospenser cover and there is a tab there that you can pull to open the door. You will likely need to replace the wax motor and control board.

Brandt FP464 Oven Door Locked

On most of these ovens, you can either unplug the unit or flip the breaker from the main and keep it off for ten minutes, then either plugs it back in or turn it back on, and then hit and hold the start/cancel button on the control board for twenty seconds. Yu should hear a beep and then you should see the display light up and ask for you to set the time. If it does this, then the reset has worked. If so, put the oven into a self clean cycle and hit start, listen for the machine to come on, and about a minute later cancel the cycle and see if the door unlocks. If that doesn't work, you may have a bad door lock assembly and you will be forced to manually unlock the door.

To manually unlock the door, stick a screwdriver or heavy wire coat hanger in between the door oven and the door lock and see if you can disengage the door lock. If you manage to get the door open, leave the door open and put the oven into another self clean cycle. If after hitting the start button to activate the self clean cycle, you notice the door lock either not moving or getting stuck closed again you will need a new door lock assembly. If after hitting the start button, the door lock seems to be working fine, the door lock had probably shorted out during the cleaning cycle and looks to be okay now.

There's an auxiliary switch in the door lock.switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. The machine will NEVER advance to the spin cycle unless the auxiliary switch is activated as a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during a high-speed spin cycle that may result in physical injury. The drum tumbles back and forth while the machine control checks the auxiliary if activated but since it's not, the control will not command the motor speed control to spin the drum at high speed. These symptoms may indicate a faulty door lock/switch assembly and may need replacement. Click on the links below for the detailed troubleshooting instructions and replacement of the door lock/switch assembly.

Everything works but it does not spin

There is an auxiliary switch in the door lock and switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. This is a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during the spin cycle and the machine will not spin unless the switch is activated. The machine works except advancing to the spin cycle and this signifies that the auxiliary switch cannot be activated and the door lock and switch assembly is faulty. Replaced the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) to address the issue. Click on the link below for the complete and detailed procedure.

Our Samsung J1455AV door won't open, just over a year old. Have cleaned the filter, re-run a cycle, turned off at wall. Help!

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with if the door lock is stuck and wont unlock then you can pry it to open, and just don’t try too hard. The issue can be with the door latch that is stuck, to unlock it you can stick a flat screw driver behind the door latch and then lever it to open so that you don’t have to pry it to open. Once it’s done, please make sure to replace the door latch assembly to avoid any further issues. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

DU is flashing and when I press the Pause/Cancel button this does not clear the problem

The F30 error code will flash when the dispenser motor cannot be driven to its proper position.

Door Unlock Error

A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked.
It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying the error.

Door Lock Mechanism broken.
Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objects
Check Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure

If it is a cabrio:
dU flashes if the following conditions occur:
Excessive force on door lid is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
Wash media buildup is preventing lock bolt from retracting.
Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lid is in an unlocked state.

TEST #8 Door Lid Lock
Perform the following checks if washer fails to lock (or unlock).
1. Perform Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock tests.
2. Remove the console to access the machine/ motor control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the Electronic Assemblies.
3. Visually check that the P12 connector is inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual check passes, go to step 4. If visual check fails, reconnect P4 and repeat step 1.
4. Check the lid lock motor winding and switches by removing P12 from the machine/ motor control and checking the
resistance values....

Component/Resistance Unlocked/Resistance Locked/Contacts Measured/Contacts Measured:

Motor Winding/35 ±5 O/35 ±5 O/P12-2/P12-3/
Lock Switch - Home/0 O/Open Circuit/P12-1/P12-4
Lock Switch - Lock/Open Circuit/0 O/P12-1/P12-7
Lock Switch - Lid/Lid Closed = 0 OLid Open = Open Circuit/Lid Closed = 0 O Lid Open = Open Circuit/P12-1/P12-5

If resistance values are good, go to step 5. If switch measurements do not match the values shown in the table for unlocked (or locked) conditions, a problem
exists in the door lid lock. Replace the door lid lock.
5. If the Manual: Door Switch or Manual: Door Lid Lock in step 1 failed, then the machine/motor control has failed: Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Replace machine/motor control assembly. Perform the Manual: Door Switch and Manual: Door Lid Lock in step 1 to verify repair.

Washer door won't open (hotpoint first editon 800)

I have just had exactly the same problem. 10 seconds of washing, fuse blew, replaced it, cycle completed but now the door lock is stuck on. Like you I tried a new cycle but this has done nothing. In the end (and I'm not suggesting that this a remedy to the problem) I unplugged the machine - pulled the door handle til a gap appeared at the top of the door and forced it open by working a pair of scissors in to the gap and pulling. Of course as soon as I shut the door again and turned on the power the lock light came straight back on the and the door was locked tight. Sorry but this is the best I have come up with short of calling some one out.

Kenmore Elite HE3t Front Loading Washer

Try holding 'end of cycle' button for 3 seconds. If not........
  • Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the door
  • Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly
  • Check the wire harness connections to the door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure
If you get the door to open try some WD40 on the door mechanism, not on door, and open/close a few times. "Plug should be off the wall" when trying this, and tinkering inside machine, caution.
