When trying to load film rewinds and motor keeps running and will not move from'0'

First off, what type of camera. Second, at first blush is sounds as though the film leader is not being held by the takeup spool thus film is not winding frame one. That is what may be causing it to continue to run on. If there is film in the camera put the camera in a change bag, remove the film then rewind it into the spool. After removing both from the change bag inspect the takeup spool and the mechanism that starts the film on the takeup spool, it may not be holding it tight enough.

Why won't the film load?

There can be a few reasons.
  • Have you tried fresh batteries
  • Have you pulled the film to the right so when the door closes it pushes the film on to the sprockets?
  • Do you hear a sound as though it is or is not loading.
More information will enable folks to better assist you.

Nikon F100 does not advance film to start of roll,

Jim, it really sounds like one of threethings. Either will require a repair shop.
1. the film sensor is not recognizing film in the film chamber, or film across the back, therefore not telling the advance motor to advance film...
2. The film advance motor itself needs replaced.
3. The rear door latch switch needs replaced.
Since everything else seems to do OK, I doubt the main computer board is bad.

35mm manual SLR keeps taking photos even though it must be the end of the film?

You probably didn't get the film leader caught by the takeup spool - they might be no pictures taken at all. Go into a dark room and open the back, you can feel if the film is loaded.

Film Advance Problem

ksanzo,

The take up spool is cracked at the base causing the spool to slip. The camera must be mostly disassembled to replace the spool ( if available ) . This is one of the very few weak parts in the K1000. send or take it to a camera repair shop for an estimate first. --- or--
separate the base of the spool by pushing down on the gear like wheel and if you find the small crack from the bottom of the spool film slots, very carefully put a dab of super glue on the crack. check both sides of the spool. this works about 80% of the time. however it's better to replace the spool.

Film Loading Error

This also happens to Yashicas often. (though instead of stirpping the film, it will rewind it back into the roll. Something's wrong with either the firmware or the drive system. It'll need to be taken to a camera repair shop, or you'll have to send it back to Canon for warranty service, if it's still within warranty.
