If the notebook with an integrated webcam is running either Vista or Windows 7, you can use Cyberlink YouCam to test the webcam. However, if the notebook is still using the original Windows 7 operating system, you should use the HP Media Smart webcam application.
If the notebook operating system has been changed to XP, there is no XP compatible version of WebCam. You should consider using one of the instant messaging programs that is available for different operating systems.
its a common problem with 1525. remove webcam ventral software from programs and features and then reinstall the application from the cd. it will fix it. remember Dell web cam central
The webcam is integrated, i called that 'on-board'.
Meanwhile HP support have provided a perfect solution by suggesting that the Quickplay application be removed from the windows startup sequence. The webcam is no longer locked and can be addressed at will.
Excellent. Thanx
