Good afternoon. Procedure of the change the processor can be very complex technically. It very simple to add some memory modules and increase productivity of yours notebook in this case.
please take your laptop to the hp service centre and get your dvd driver repaired or changed.... its free of cost within the warranty period. it happens obviously in hp laptops.....

Just select your operating system and you will find chipset and audio drivers for your computer. If you are unfamiliar with driver updates for a Compaq please repost and I will walk you through. Steve Medley
The battery is dead. I have a compaq too and when this happens it is because thebattery has run out. As stated above plug it into the wall and hopefully your battery will charge.
my sugestion is to place your ear near notebook and turn on if you hear the hard drive then majure problem but if you hear hdd is quite then it sounds like the fans thet cool the notbook down get this in for repair as soon as you can
