SOURCE: carrier fan unit

Poke the fan blade with a stick to see if the bearings are seized up. If it turns easily, you have an electrical problem, like a bad capacitor.

SOURCE: Fan runs but blowing hot air. Thunderstorm reset some breakers. I did reset the two breakers inside the house and one unit working fine, upstairs unit fan running but blowing warm air only. Box out

Sounds like your Capacitor is bad, or you had a wire burn off compressor terminal or capacitor. Way you can check capacitor is take cover off and see if looks swollen. Make sure to turn off power before taking panel off.

SOURCE: Will not cool properly.

You have either a faulty thermostat, dirty condenser and evaporator or a faulty run capacitor. Need to service soon before the compressor is damaged. Sea Breeze

SOURCE: My Armstrong Concept 1000 5ton stopped running

Sounds like your low on refrigerant, presuming your compressor is coming on at all. Listen for a distinctively lower toned motor running other than the fan motor. Either problem necessitates an EPA certified Tech for a fix. Good luck

I have a general air conditioner/heater model numberAHE08AXL1 serial number FL162040M. But when I turn heat on it blows cold air

It sounds like the fan is working, but to produce heat (or cold) the compressor has to run. Can you hear the compressor running? If you put the unit into AC cool mode, can you get the compressor to run? You may have a blown fuse or circuit breaker or other problem preventing the compressor from running.

Amana Wall unit blows cold air before heating

The cold that you describe may be just unconditioned air? If you are certain you can hear the comp operating for a couple of minutes, and then the heat starts, I would guess it is a reversing valve issue if it's a heat pump and it probably is. Or the control board acting up. I've had a lot of issues with the boards in the Amanda PTAC units. I can't remember how to configure it, but if you Google "Amanda ptac configuration", there is a lot of info online. May try a reset method first. Hope this helps!

Why does my ac not blow cold air?

You have to try resetting the system. First turn the breaker off for the condenser and wait about 20 seconds After you turn it back on the system should reset. If you need any other assistance check us out online at Boca AC Service we are always happy to lend a helping hand

My central air conditioner is making a whistling noise in the inside unit when the compressor is running. It's not the blower because the noise stops after the outdoor unit shuts off. It's also not blowing...

Hello,
If there is no cooling (meaning no cold pipes and not blowing cold air) then check the outdoor A/C for any visible/obvious issues; breakers not tripped, no debris blocking the outside unit from passing air through it, etc. If all looks ok, you can start checking some things inside of the unit if you feel comfortable doing so. Also, most indoor heaters have a higher speed/rpm for the fan when the cooling kicks on, and the heat runs on a lower speed/rpm.

Hope this helps James

COMPRESSER IS VERY HOT, FAN OUTSIDE BLOWING COLD AIR OUT NOT HOT

Most likely the unit is low on refrigerant. You could also have a restriction in the system. You need to put gauges on the unit.
