best suggestion try inserting new needle. cotton up the top suggests needle problem or incorrect top thread tension, this would effect the feed dog. Because thread is black and most recent use was with pink, the problem thread was already there perhaps in cavity above bobbin but below throat plate. I have had this happen and nothing will move, untill needle released. The bobbin holder tension may also need adjusting after the knots of black cotton are removed.
check these things
1.threaded correctly
2.needle bent -lay needle on a flat surface & roll the needle over--if needle does not roll true--replace
3.check bobbin area for lint or loose threads
As far as oiling goers you should oil all the moving parts that you can see, if the needle gets stuck run the machine without fabric and thread and see what happens, if the needle get stuct you may need to retime it, if it only gets stuck when you are sewing make sure you are not pulling the fabric to the back instead of letting the machine do the work.
When it feels like the needle is jammed, open the bobbin cover and release the two black retaining levers, one on either side of the bobbin case. The hook cover that is visible will be released. If the machine turns by hand smoothly, you may have a piece of the broken needle, or just a piece of thread stuck behind the hook or hook cover causing the bind. This problem will sometime make you swear that the needle is stuck in something because it will usually bind while the needle is down in the fabric.
