Can run when placed on a mat, but could cause ***** if the mat gets wet and/or is insufficient in depth. Need a supernova motor.
I would chek your ground wire or see if wire might be touching befor I changed the moter good luck

You can also use a Eureka vacuum cleaner belt, can't remember the exact model, but the package says it's for most sewing machines. It's not the V belt, but it works on my Super Nova and it's 1.79 for two!

I understand that you are having a problem finding needles for you Necchi Supernova Automatic Ultra MKII. I have found many people on line that are big Necchi fans yahoo groups has about three groups that only have persons with true genuine Necchi's made in Italy. You may want to look up one of these groups as they seem to help one another with problems and locating parts for there machines. I also found the only company that imports Necchi to the United States Allyn International. They currently have some vintage parts for your machine. Here is there phone number to purchase parts 1-800-52-9987 ext. 5 and also a link to there web site http://www.allynint.com/
