Either the bottom outlet washer or the inlet valve washer needs replacing. It is a common condition, and if unsure, call a handyman in. An expensive plumber should not be needed.

Jacuzzi toilet

After flush the system must close the hole which lets water into the toilet. If it does not close after flush, it is continuously letting the water thru. Check if it closes after flush and allows tank to fill.

Sounds like the water tank keeps filling

2 possibilities.1. The water level is set higher the the overflow tube. This will cause the water to run into the overflow continuously. You should be able to see this. 2. The large seal - bottom center of the tank - is leaking. This will cause the water level to slowly drop after a fill. The water tank will start to run again after flushing - BUT NOT CONTINUOUSLY. You should see if there is a small amount of water flowing from the rim to the bowl 15 seconds after the water has stopped running after a flush.

After flushing, the toilet keeps running. However, if I turn off the water supply, and then turn back on, the toilet stops running until the next time it is flushed. Toilet makes a

It could be the type of flap you are using. I would suggest you try a different shaped flapper (a cone would work best) and if that doesn't do it, put a new kit into the unit, because it could be that the float system is sticking causing it to continue running.

Toilet runs slightly, can minimally depress the handle to release a bit of water, and it will stop. How to fix?

Toilet runs continuously or doesn't flush adequately

Jiggling the handle might work for a while, but if your toilet is always running or doesn't flush adequately, you need to perform these simple fixes that usually can tame a noisy, inefficient toilet.

Check the Chain

The chain attached to the rubber flapper often becomes loose, causing incomplete flushing and/or continuous running. To fix it, remove links from the chain using needle-nosed pliers until it's tight.

Check Water Level

Improper water levels can also cause problems with your toilet. This can be fixed by adjusting the ball ****, which is located next to the overflow pipe, the open tube to the right of the handle. Adjust the ball **** so the water comes to ½ " below the overflow pipe.

Clean the Surface of the Flush Valve

A continuously running toilet can also be the result of a faulty flush valve. Because the valve is made of rubber, it can decompose or warp allowing water to escape from the tank into the bowl. Clean the sealing surface to see if this will improve the seal. If too decomposed or warped the valve may need to be replaced.

Replace the Flapper

Remove old flapper and replace with a suitable replacement. Attach the flapper to the overflow pipe inside the bowl. Then attach the lever chain from the flapper to the handle lever making sure the chain is taut.

On my eljer toilet, I get continuous running of the water. If I shut valve off and pump the tank, the running stops (but only for a week or so). Suggestions? model 150-403 power flush pf/2

I don't know what you mean by "pumping" the tank. If the toilet runs, then either the fill valve is defective or the seal on the flush valve is defective. First, check to see that when you move the float, the toilet stops running. If it does not, then replace the fill valve. If it does, then inspect/replace the seal on the flush mechanism at the bottom of the tank. If this seal is bad, you can usually see water continuously flowing (slowly) into the bowl. You will see ripples on the surface of the water in the bowl.

Toilet refills and water stops running. a couple seconds later get the sound of air which continues. if I push black float down a bit it stops manually but when I let go continues??

It can be one of two things first you either have air in your watter line in this case let water run for a while and see if you get air if so let it run until it quits spitting or contact your water company for help.Second the diaphram is worn in the top of the valve in this case the whole valve will need to be replaced turn off water flush toilet put pan or bowl under water line at toilet remove water line at toilet .Unscrew the fitting and remove hose next remove the large plastic nut on the bottom of tank .Some water will leak out hence the bowl! remove valve replace wit new one line up in same direction it was removed put on new rubber washer supplied,Tighten plastic nut replace hose and tighten turn on water that should fix it!

The gmax continues to run and won/t stop

if it worked fine and now it has stopped....then there is no adjustment that will fix it. If the fill valve is not shutting off you either need to replace the seal in the valve or get a new fill valve. If the water is leaking past the flapper you will need a new flapper.
