My AC unit is a carrier LCA061P window unit. It works okay but has recently started to make a loud clatter. I would like to replace whatever parts that are needed but can't seem to find any relevant information. I suspect the problem is a blower fan (rotary) that sits beneath the top channel in the front grill.

Good possibility. WIth the unit powered off and unplugged check the clearance of the wheel and the collection basin underneath, Debris could be the source but I suspect the bearing is failing on the motor

If your a/c have a housing, set the upper front side 1/2" away from the wall and the lower front side 1 1/2" away from the wall. Some units with plastic base pan should be inclined more defending on the height of the drain line fitted in each model.
if noise is only when starting, consider replacing the starter. the mounting bolts could have some loose, or the clutch which disengages the starter gear is not retracting the gear. either situation could cause a loud noise of the starter gear clattering with the ring gear.
Something fell from the roof and broke the top (outside) of my

Is this a window unit, a whole house AC, or a Split package type?
If it is a window unit remove the front cover, reach in and see if the blower fan teeters on the mother shaft. If it does the blower fan center hub has failed and the fan will need replaced. (I have changed 2 blower fans on my Carrier 19,800BTU window units that run 23 hours a day.) They just fail over time. Who knows why.
90% of the problem with window shakers is the window that they are installed in is loss in the frame. When the unit is installed in the window you need to make sure that you install vibration eliminaters. This can be as simple as placing the foam strips between the unit and the bottom of the window you raised to install the unit through or as complex as removing the unit from its casing and reinstalling the casing, making sure all parts that touch the raised window as well as the side extensions have a cushion between them. If the clatter persists gently tap on the sash to see if you get any vibration, if so you need to insert slivers of wood between the sash and the moulding. This should solve you problem. The only thing you should hear is the compressor going on and off and the whosh of the fan.
