I have a Selmer Bundy flute with serial # 635595. Is this silver or silver plate, and what's it worth?

A Bundy is the low end of the Selmer line intended for students. Therefore it is at best a sliver plated instrument and depending on its condition might be worth 100 to a couple hundred dollars.

Hi i have a Selmer mark vi (6) Tenor saxophone model NR m171276. Value and year please

I can't find a reference to 'NR'. Looking just at the serial number, the Selmer scheme shows it should be indeed, a Mk VI made in 1969 or 1970.

If that is so it may be worth from $4000-5500 depending on condition. To be certain I'd have it professionally valued.

I have a solid silver selmer flute with gold lip plate, serial no. 3786. I cant find the date of manufacture. It is in pristine condition. Can you tell me the date?

Hi Erica.

Conn/Selmer has a web page with dating for a number of their affiliate instruments, though it doesn't look to be complete.
Serial Numbers If it was lumped in with the Conn 'Reed Mouthpiece' Instruments (as opposed to cup mouthpiece, which I'd think of as more 'brass', then it'd look to be 1899. The Artley Flute list starts with a serial # of 10000 in 1952. There appear to be other people out there having difficulty using their charts, and the Customer service page on the website is mum about contacting them directly, and suggests calling a nearby dealer. The dealer page is at

The description makes it sound like an Omega Model, see for instance

Flute yfl 311 serial number 032985 from what year is this flute?

My best advice: take some nice photos of your flute, marks, brands, serial etc. ant take it to a music instrument store where probably some musical guru will tell you this information.
