Hello OTCHENASH...

Make & Model would be really really really helpful here!!!

if It's a NEW STYLE self cleaning oven... read the new manual.
or
if It's a OLD STYLE self cleaning oven... read the old manual.

It makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE...

Any advice here could fly right in the face of what you
owners manual dictates

You TYPICALLY remove the shelves.. and prep the interior with a warm sponge... to pick of loose particles.

Sets the controls for clean... return WELL after cool down.
Make sure the interior surface is cool to the touch... and
ONLY THEN :
Clean up the ash with a damp sponge!

Clean and return the shelves... and you are good for your next mess.

If it is not SELF CLEANING... get out the HAZ-MAT suits..

Again... remove shelves food, etc.
Open windows... Read the CAUTIONS on the label...
Follow those directions VERY CLOSELY... Else...

Get dressed and go out and by a new oven.

Happy hunting!

Remove glass oven door

The video on You Tube will show you how to remove your oven door. You may need to watch it all of the way through to see your type of hinge. The video shows four different hinge types which are common and so covers most oven models.

How can I clean the roof of my Stoves 720EF Electric Double Oven

I have been using the Lakeland brush on oven cleaner for ALL of the inside of the oven including the stay clean bits without any problems. With the 720, I just brush on the cleaner and follow the instructions. To answer you question, I don't actually lie upside down, you should be able to reach it fairly easily. You may need a number of attempts to get the worse of! Be careful of the thermostat sensor at the top rear right of the oven. It should be bright and clean but will not take any heavy handed cleaning, especially the thin wire leading to/from it. FYI the fan cover at the rear of the oven is held on by 4 self tapping screw and comes off/ goes back on with any problems.(The rear of the cover by the vents build up with grease). Don't use the cleaner on any aluminuim bits ( which includes the fan) as it harms it.

How do I start the self cleaning? I hit clean and it does not start

On most self-cleaning ovens after you push the clean cycle button you have to tell it how long you want it to clean. Try pushing clean then pushing 3:00 for 3 hrs. If you don't have a number pad try pushing the clean pad several times and see if it cycles through clean levels like low, med or high. Then after you tell it how long to clean hit start. If you don't have a start button the oven should start cleaning after around 5 seconds. It will lock the door and begin the clean cycle. Also remember it takes around an hour for the oven to cool and unlock after the cycle is finished. Hope that helps.

Do i have to take out the oven racks before I self clean the oven?

Hi,
If you don't take them out the high heats can wreck the finish on them and turn them all kinds of crazy colors.... but if you don't care what they look like after the cleaning you can let them in...

My recommendation is to not use the self cleaning feature...

Self cleaning frigidare oven FEF368CCTD

If this stove has knobs, Make sure the clock keeps time. If it doesn't you will have to manually turn this off. (DON"T FORGET OR LEAVE WHILE CLEANING) Make sure there are no large puddles of oil or grease on the bottom of the oven.If the oven is really dirty it may stink a little. Nothing but the racks can be in the oven.Press the lock button and slide the lock lever to lock the door. Set the stop time for 3 hours and turn the knob by the clock to auto. Turn the oven knob to clean. (MAY have to push to turn all the way to clean) It should start heating up. Let it finish and then cool down. It will not let you unlock or open the door until it is completely cool. Wipe out any remaining ash with a wet rag. ALL CLEAN!
