Does it get heated? If so, Heat makes filter dry and it starts to leak.

Testimonial: "No, but I did notice a slight discoloration of the 2 filters. After a plunge in a solution of water and vinegar, the filters do their work and there is no flood for 10 days, but as soon as the filters are slightly discolored, bang, another flood on my hardwood floor. I feel this is not right."

Essick credenza humidifier water from right bottle drains completely when it is filled causing water to leak all over floor. just started this, the last three years it worked perfectly

I DON;T KNOW. MOST WATER IS LET IN WHEN NEEDED BY FLOAT VALVE AT BOTTOM OF BOTTLE OR LOWER.
PERHAPS IT NEEDS CLEANING. CONSIDER USING
STRAIGHT VINEGAR IN LEAKING SIDE THEN GOOD SIDE. IF NOT OK, YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE UNIT APART TO INSPECT FOR CAUSE.

DEHUMIDIFIER IS RUNNING BUT NOT COLLECTING WATER

There are 5 basic, but solvable reasons for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder
level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Water leaks out from the bottom of the case ... just about where the outflow pipe is located. Additionally, large amounts of water are going out the out flow pipe. I am getting more than 2 quarts of...

YOUR HUMI IS IN NEED OF MAINTAINACE. THE CALCIUM DEPOSITS ARE CLOGGING THE THE SPONGE ROLLER THAT WOULD NORMALLY ABSORB THAT WATER, YOU ALSO HAVE THE HUMDITY SETTING RATHER HIGH THATS WHY THERES SO MUCH WATER. THE TUBE THAT IS LEAKING IS MADE TO DRAIN OFF EXCESS WATER FROM THE ROLLER AND THE REASON IT LEAKS IS BECAUSE IT ALSO NEEDS SERVICE JUST PULL IT OFF AND CUT THE SEWELLED PART OFF WITH RAZOR OR CUTTING KNIFE IF IT IS PLASTIC TUBING AND REPLACE IT. IT SHOULD BE DRAINING INTO THE DRAIN ON THE FLOOR WHERE THE FURNACE CONDENSATE TUBE IS.

In the water line where it connects to the solenoid is an orifice. You can install a smaller plastic orifice or you can install a manual feed valve to where you can control the flow.

Honeywell HE260 leaks somewhere

Neither, even if the solenoid or humidistat stick, it should always drain properly. Is the unit mounted on the cold air return duct or the supply plenum? If it's mounted on the supply plenum, the water panel might be getting blown forward and spilling the water. High efficient furnaces also can leak water on the floor if its drain is restricted. If hum. is mounted on return duct make sure drain is clear by blowing through it. On Honeywell hum's I've seen the rubber hose from the solenoid valve to the distributor tray leak too, check the rubber 1/4" hose.

Water Tank leaks all over the floor

This happened to me the second night of use.  Water all over the carpet and a dripping vent. I called customer service and they told me to remove the tank and filter, and run unit dry for an hour or so. Then restart it.  Worked fine after that.  I think we may have bumped it which is said to be the cause of most leaks.  Bummer is that after 5 night of use the grip on water tank slipped and the tank is in pieces.

Humidifier leaks

My Air-O-Swiss U7142 has a leak from the very bottom. I found that as long as the water flows on to the "pan" that evaporizes the water, the water will come out from the bottom. Does anybody know how to fix this?
