With engine off try rotating pto shaft by hand 1/2 turn , then restart it and try again

Testimonial: "I have turned it both directions and it won't turn. Sounds and acts like a pin has slipped and is stopping it. With engine running and pto engaged you can turn shaft back and when you let got it turns about 180 degrees and stops again."

i meant turning the load or implement side , if it wont turn you'll need to see why that is , load side should allways free wheel with pto disengauged , if you have tried to engage to a stuck load im sure your sheer pin is now broken , and do try to not touch a pto shaft with engine running , ive lost a good friend a few years back that did just that !

Mahindra tractor 4110, the pto won't engage it's moving freely. I put in new switches the pto what to do now

There are a few possibilities, first you say it moves freely,? You should be able to turn it by hand but it should be pretty hard to do so not easily. Mahindra uses a failsafe switch on some tractors where the 3point hitch has to be down half way before the pto engages and also sometimes there is a rpm requirement as well usually over 1800-2200 rpm on the compact versions. Just some things to check first.

2012 cub cadet LGTX 1054 motor bogs down and has very little power when electric PTO is engaged to mower deck.

Kohler SV740

This is almost always a combustion issue.

Check RC12YC plug gap is 0.030"

Running on one cylinder? Disconnect a plug wire and start. Reconnect plug wire and disconnect opposing plug wire. Start.

If only running on one cylinder and gap and spark are good then check OHV lash.

If missing or poor spark on a cylinder... likely ignition module failure.

If starter intermittently stalls (makes 1/2 revolution, pauses, continues), valve lash out of tolerance.

Fuel - drain carburetor fuel bowl. Capture fuel and check for water.

Check battery voltage while engine running. If less than 13V then charging system failure.

If you want to test the PTO when on...remove both spark plugs, switch PTO on. Pull deck belt through but you may not have enough leverage on the PTO pulley, Try rotating the fan side (top) of crank by using both hands flat on the fan, push/pull clockwise. Else a 5/8 socket and bar on the clutch bolt (bottom end of crankshaft) will easily turn the crank/clutch.

PTO will not engage riding mower blades on MTD 13AH762F752.

ed, be sure there is nothing wrapped around the blades. lower the deck and be sure the belt is around all of the pullys. If the belt comes off one of the pulleys or the pulley on the engine it may feel normal but it wont engage the blades.

Gravely ZT 60 HD won't start, no sound at all, battery is good.

Zero turn mowers in general require the following.

  1. PTO off.
  2. Steering levers to neutral position.
  3. Parking brake engaged.
A good habit to learn is; When a zero turn won't crank, cycle all the start engine interlocks. Move park lever off/on, steering levers out/in, PTO on/off.

And a simple basic electrical check is; With key in run position (engine not running), you should hear the electric clutch engage/disengage when PTO switch moved ON/OFF.

I have a john deere 737 ztrak with a 23hp kawasaki engine. It cranks fine and runs strong. However, when the pto is engaged and begin mowing, the engine stalls. Also, the battery charge light comes on...

First. My disclaimer. I do not have first hand experience with your model mower.

Well, it sounds like when you engage the PTO the power to the PTO shorts to ground causing a) your charge light to come on as the voltage drops substantially and b) your mower to stall as the minimum voltage of the ingnition system is reached (or some other effect is at work). The clutch is might be internally shorted, or you may have a frayed wire in the PTO circuit. You may or may not have a PTO relay. If you do, it is sure to burn up if you continue using your mower. If you do not have a relay, you will definitely burn out the PTO switch. It is odd you are not blowing an inline fuse if this is the correct answer. Check your PTO circuit with a continuity tester to tell you if there is a short (or measure resistance directly with a voltmeter on ohms).

When I engage the front PTO the engine dies.

There is somthing in the PTO that is binding up. I am assuming the PTO is for the mower blades. The belt(s) could be binding up, not on the pulleys, etc. The blades should turn by hand easily.
