Question about Samsung HLP4663W 46" Rear Projection HDTV
I have black spots that look like a shadow in behind them does anyone know why this would happen
I had the same problem with my Samsung DLP tv a couple of weeks ago. I had to clean the lenses, mirrors and the DMD sensor to fix it, you must remove the rear cover to do this. If the mirrors and lenses were cleaned but the spots were still there, the final thing to do is to clean the sensor chip on the DMD board. It is located under the heat sink behind the small fan in the lower center of the rear of the TV. The DMD board will have to be removed to get to the back of the sensor. All you have to do is blow some dry canned air across it to remove the dust, do not wipe it with anything. The repair is somewhat complicated and you will probably have to realign the picture by adjusting the position of the DMD board when finished.

Yopu might an issue either with the DMD board or the Video board, turn pon the tv go the menu, if those black spots are still there, the issue is with the dmd board, but if they're not there the issue will be with your video board
