Question about Rio Sport S35S MP3 Player
I have changed the compatibility mode to that of Win XP prior to installing. I have tried the links that have been posted here for software, but none of them are valid. The unit is plugged in and says "waiting". The Manager does see the music and I can check off the boxes next to the songs, but the "transfer" button does not light up in order to complete the transfer to the unit. The Manager does not detect the unit but it shows up under "other devices" in device manager.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service

This is a problem which I have encountered alot with my Rio Carbon.
A solution which always works for me is to hold the player face down in my left hand and then slap the back of it with my right palm a little harder than I would if I was winding a baby.
Best wishes, I hope this works for you as it does for me.

SOURCE: Music won't upload onto my Rio.
I have not been on FixYa for about a 1/2 a year so as I seem to be the only person answering Rio problems I have only just seen your problem... Sorry, so if you haven't bought an iPod yet (or you want to try and fix this anyway) then I would recommend wiping and rebooting your player:
Windows only.... Please post if you are not using windows...
Open My Computer with your Rio plugged in.
Right click on your Rio player and click on format.
Leave the default values - if it asks you something then use your initiative.
Then click on format.
Then when it has finished formatting go to your firmware (can be downloaded from: http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/product.asp?prodID=112).
Follow the instructions and then it should load the firmware onto your player.
When it has done then your player should (in theory!) work properly.
Hope this helps
