I have no remote and cannot access anything but volume and power with my comcast remote. can not even make the tv do an auto scan. Using the channel buttons on the tv only gets me 3 channels. the volume buttons won't do anything either. there is also no menu button on the tv.
The TV has no manual channel change buttons on it? I have never seen this on any TV ever.

This can be due to moisture build up or dirt accumulating with a static charge to induce voltage and so change the customer control panel switchings.
You can try with a good cleaning of the board and panels. Make sure to dry if moisture is seen. Also check for static conducion of high voltage to the control panel that can induce the inputs to work erratic.
if not check the processor section- processor damage- and the board for a possible weakness.

The fault is due to the microswitches on the front panel. Just replace all of them at the same time. These switches can be located just behind the front pane push buttons. To access it you have to open the TV, and take out the printed circuit board out.
Pictures of two type of microswitches are given here. The shape may differ to tV to tv, but look this. may vary ins size and shape too.

Isn't there a channel Up/Dn button at the front panel of this TV. It should be there. Only Menu button is not. There is Ch up ' Ch Dn and Vol Up ' Vol Dn buttons, beside a power button. Even pressing the channel Up ' Dn button, the channels cannot be changed, check the micro switches inside the TV. Replace them all at one time. You ave to open the TV to access these components.
