My i9900 canon has gone spontaneously from working fine to stubbornly "offline". I decided just to delete and reinstall it, but can't find the CD or its equivalent online. Any help please?

What OS do you have? Please add the update version for Windows 10. The drivers are still available from Canon here: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/i-series/i9900?tab=drivers_downloads for supported OS versions. It looks like the printer used Windows Update for to install most of the drivers under Windows 7. There is an optional update for the driver on the site but it doesn't work unless Windows Update installed the basic driver. The Canon didn't officially support the printer for any OS after Windows 7.

The Windows 7 driver worked under 8 (8.1) and some versions of Windows 10 for a while. (Under Windows 8, the ZoomBrowser software didn't work.) Then Microsoft became strict about not allowing unsigned drivers to install. The easiest solution is to find an old Windows 7 computer to connect to the printer. Alternatively, get an unused install license and build a virtual machine to connect to the printer. Note: recent cumulative updates for Windows 10 have caused issues with USB printers.

If you are using Windows 8 or 8.1, try connecting the printer via the USB port with the machine off. The restart the computer; make sure that the Windows Update is set to find updates for other devices (not just Windows). If you are using the printer over a network, some found using the Canon ProMark 9000 series drivers worked.

I hope these ideas help. I wish that I had better news for you about Canon support.

(Building a virtual machine OS depends on your CPU allowing virtualization and free memory. You also need the Windows Pro or Enterprise versions of the OS for Hyper-V (Windows 10) or the Windows 8 VM equivalent. Third-party tools for creating a virtual machine may work on the home edition.)

I can not print from Windows 7 Microsoft word 2010, the pages come out blank, can print in excel and other office programs just not documents please help have tried everything

Make sure you are installing CURRENT drivers/software offered by HP for your printer for Windows 7. Get it here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-photosmart-e-all-in-one-printer-series-d110/4023244/model/4023245

Maybe the issue is not printer related. Maybe Word 2010 needs some sort of update. Windows Update will update Windows OS and other Microsoft products (I have a Windows 7 PC running Office 97, Windows Update treats it like Office 2003 and STILL updates it!).

Or, you could manually install them:

https://www.google.com/search?q=word+2010+update&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1

Good luck.

I have HP Deskjet 3420 printer, which I am using with my Compaq 7500 computer (window xp). Printer was purchased by me some 7 years back. I now want to use this printer with my dell laptop having windows 7...

There are no official drivers Win 7 avaliable for your AIO hp DJ 3420, but you can use an alternate compatible drivers for your model ie. hp DJ 3600 series. Read this link from hp Installing the Printer with an Alternate Driver in Windows 7 for a USB Cable Connection. Suggestions What have you tried to get Windows Update to work? I would suggest the following: Go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a printer, Local Printer, LPt1, etc...when the list of printers comes up select Windows Update. After several minutes the list of printers should be updated and the Deskjet 3600 should be in the updated list. (Also keep in mind to look under 'HP' section of the driver (hp 3600) list and not 'Hewlett Packard'). Cancel the install the wizard & select "hp 3600" drivers to install on your Win 7 system. Hope it helps.

Driver for windows 7

According to the Hewlett-Packard support website, DOWNLOAD the DeskJet 3600 Series driver for Windows 7. It is equal to the USB driver for the DeskJet 3325. At the present time, the Deskjet 3600 Driver is available thru WINDOWS UPDATE ONLY. Enable WINDOWS UPDATE on your Windows 7 PC and manually download this driver.
At this time, a full feature Windows 7 driver solution is not available for your product. However, a compatible print driver solution for your product is included with the Windows 7 operating system. There is no need to download any additional software. Follow the steps in this document to identify the print driver that is compatible with the product, install the driver, and then configure it in Windows 7. When this driver is installed, you can use the basic functions of the product.

Follow these steps to install the compatible driver in Windows 7.
  1. Make sure that the USB cable is not connected to the product. If the USB cable is connected to the product, disconnect it.
  2. From the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon (c01319360.gif), and then click Devices and Printers. The Devices and Printers window opens.
  3. Click Add a printer. The Add Printer window opens.
  4. Click Add a local printer.
  5. Click Use an existing port.
  6. Click the Use an existing port drop-down list, select LPT1: (Printer Port), and then click Next.
  7. Under Manufacturer in the Install the printer driver window, click HP.
  8. Under Printers, select the appropriate alternate driver for the product (listed in the table in the previous step), and then click Next.

  9. NOTE: If your HP product is available through Windows Update, click the Windows Update button to select additional print drivers. You must connect to the Internet before using Windows Update.
  10. In the Printer name text box, type the product name and then click Next. The print driver starts the installation process.

  11. NOTE: The name of the alternate driver displays in the window as the default name. If you prefer, you can change the name of your product. This step is optional. When the installation is complete, a message displays on the computer stating that the product was added successfully.
  12. In the message window, click Finished.
  13. Connect the USB cable to the product, and connect the USB cable to the computer. A Device driver software was not successfully installed window opens.
  14. Click Close (c01900743.gif) to close the window.

Follow these steps to configure the installed driver.
  1. In the Devices and Printers window, right-click the name of the product and then click Printer Properties. The Printer Properties window opens.
  2. Click the Ports tab.
  3. Click the drop down menu, and then change the port from LPT1 to USB or DOT4.

  4. NOTE: If there is more than one USB/DOT4 port available, select the USB/DOT4 port with the highest port number. To see the full port name, widen the ports row in the Properties dialog box by placing the cursor over the vertical line between Port and Description, and then click and hold the mouse button. Move the mouse to the right until the port name is visible.
  5. Click OK.

I can´t find a graphic driver for my compaq presario sr1610nx. I searched everywhere. I don´t know what else to do. My pc has a AMD Sempron processor. I have installed now windows 7. Please, help...

Windows 7 has an impressive driver database preloaded on it, but if it did not detect your video drivers, I recommend running a Microsoft Update. Make sure to include optional updates as this includes updates to hardware and non-Microsoft items which may need updating. It is important that you install everything that comes up, as updates prevent you from being at risk to potential threats on the internet and also ensures your PC is using the hardware to it's maximum ability with the most current drivers and software.
If this does not find your driver for you, you can go to the HP website, click on support and drivers, and then type in your model number and click Windows 7 when the OS choice comes up. This file they offer will automatically alert you when updates for your system are ready for Windows 7.

Good Luck,

I have one computer which operating system is windows vista home premium. Another PC with operating system Windows 7 Home premium and have set up to share one HP K80 Printer. Now problem I believe is the...

Instal only one printer driver on the PC it is physically connected to. Preferably the Windows 7 PC (Latest OS). Unshare the printer, remove drivers from other PC's., then reboot al PC,s and re-share the printer. The PC's sharing should allow the Windows 7 PC to use it's driver, although they may request a disc for basic information about the printer.

I need a driver for the Lexmark z816 that works

The manufacturer's web-page:

http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&userlocale=EN_US&id=HOT33&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_Z816&segment=DOWNLOAD&actp=HOTTIPS

states:

> Recently released printers include Microsoft Windows 7 drivers on the
> Software and Documentation CD provided in the box with the printer.

So, find an obliging computer-store that sells the printer, and pay them to make a copy of that CD.

The web-page also states:

> Many printer models have drivers included with the Windows
> Operating System or available through Windows Update

So, run "Windows Update", with the printer attached & powered-on, and look in the "Optional Hardware" category.

Or, choose "reinstall driver", and allow Windows to "access Internet to search for updated drivers".
