Delonghi Perfecta milk frother not heating.

When I press Cappuccio, the machine is not generating power to heat the machine. Press it, nothing happens. Everything else is working fine on the machine. There is nothing wrong with the button, it worked once, and now it won't. What's up with that?

SOURCE: Frother not working

The frother does not have a vacuum, it uses venturi pressure to draw up milk through a venturi at the top of the steam feed. The milk side is clogged from not cleaning enough. soak in boiling water for a few minutes and try to run it in steam mode for a while... if that doesnt work, a light lye solution will dissolve the milk residue clogging it. neutralize the lye with vinegar drawn through after the clog is gone.

(lye will dissolve you as well as milk... use gloves and don't put your face near it while it's working.)

SOURCE: milk container won't fit onto front of machine

We had the same problem & worked out that it's because the actual milk container is too cold & has contracted from being in a cold part of the fridge. We moved the milk container to the door of the fridge ( it's a little warmer than the rest of the fridge) & it slotted in perfectly the next morning!

Try to turn the steam knob to off postion and the switch off and on again. If the light insist that means that the steam micro-switch which is activated by turning the knom is either stuck in on position or is faulty and need to be replaced.

SOURCE: I have a De Longhi EN 265BAE Citiz & Milk machine.

Hi rspence423,

You aren't by any chance writing from Australia?

Parts are pretty hard to come by online except there.

You will have to contact DeLonghi customer care to order the part. Here is their contact page: >>>> http://www.delonghiusa.com/index.php?texts&pid=3
DeLonghi is structurally identical to Krups. If you can't get anything from DeLonghi, you could try doing a google search for Krups parts and contact a customer service person at one of their parts suppliers.
Good luck.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Handie Andie

SOURCE: DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 when trying to make a

From the question I understand that the steam jet is rushing into the cup but it is not able to draw milk. The jet of steam pulls the milk from the container (within a reasonable distance from the frother). With proper air mix from the air inlet in the frother, it generates foam. Suction of milk is enough when the milk tube connection at the frother end is airtight. Air sucked into the frother with milk (due to loose connection) reduces the suction of milk. Please try the following:
1- Make sure that the passage of milk between the milk container and the frother is not kinked.
2- Make sure the connection of the frother to the steam outlet is airtight. Air sucked in at this connection also reduces the suction of milk from the milk container.
3- Make sure the tube drawing milk from milk container to the frother is airtight at the frother end.
An extra suggestion to a related matter: Many operators feel that the steamed milk is not hot. This happens when the flow of milk id more than the steam can heat. Reduce the flow of milk for hotter foamed milk.
First slightly pinch the tube between finger and thumb to reduce milk flow. If that results in a better temperature of milk filling the cup, then you need to find a flow constrictor device.
The flow constrictor is a simple bushing with a hole through it to allow milk tube to pass through. There a screw (metal or plastic) threaded through its wall that can be tightened to pinch the milk tube and reduce the milk flow .
Please check the following link for the flow reducing device: Services Unlimited Inc Parts Guru

Delonghi perfecta milk not hot enough

Ummn - something in your Q. seems not right. The milk is not heated directly - its only heated by the steam as it passes by (and picks up) by the milk using a venturi effect - same as a spray bottle attached to a garden hose. You say you have froth - but you can only get that if you have steam... (it does not just blow air thru to create bubbles). So froth = steam & steam = heat... so milk must be hot.
Suggest you check manual for the 'heat' settings for your expresso as this may have been changed. While this is adjustable, the milk is not.

Also always heat your cups before using them - the silver cup 'holder' at the top does a reasonable job but boiling water does far better.

Magnifica ESAM 3500 milk temperature low

This is factory preset and cannot be altered. You do need to use the "clean" function on the milk frother unit to ensure the boiler and pipes heat up enough also.

Keurig frother stopped frothing but still heats milk

There may be an issue with the milk you are using if your Keurig K cafe frother is only heating milk and not frothing it. There is nothing wrong with your frother.
You must consider changing the milk you are using and hopefully, your problem will be solved. Read this article for complete details on fixing the frother.

DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 when trying to make a cappucino it wont **** up the milk any ideas thanks

Had this exact problem a few times on a cleaned well maintained milk jug top with an ESAM5500M. Delonghi 'repaired' it by sending a new milk jug frothing top.

It's caused by milk fat deposits, the frother part on the milk jug may look clean but deep inside it's not. I clean mine with pipe cleaners, detergent and hot water and still it wouldn't froth.

The problem re-occurs for me every 6 months or so. You could buy the milk fat remover solution to clean it. Personally I just boil the whole milk jug frother in detergent and the again in descaling solution, that's fixed this problem twice now, although I think it will eventually corrode the 'o' rings on the frother, still cheaper than buying a new frother part each time though.

If it still doesn't work after that, the only other reason for this problem I found mention of was caused by a broken rubber seal where the milk jug fits to the machine. It's most likely to be milk fat deposits inside the frother though.

There is no milk coming out of the frothing part of the Delonghi Coffee Maker, it just makes a noise and steam comes out.

If no milk comes out of frother, check the o-ring on the upper "plug" where the milk jar connects to the machine. There are two connectors; only the bottom one corresponds to the steam output while the upper one is a plug. Mine had a worn out o-ring on the plug, and this keeps the machine from frothing milk.
