You cannot charge the Fitbit Zip as it uses a coin battery.
The Fitbit Zip runs on a replaceable 3V coin battery, CR2025.
It can be found wherever batteries are sold.
You can change the battery while not wearing hence counting steps. Fitbit Zip Battery Change

My fitbit seems "dead". Tried to charge it but no reaction...

Hello, Tony -

Did you check the FitBit web pages for information and troubleshooting regarding your FitBit not charging?

See the information on a FitBit web page here:
http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1190/?l=en_US&c=Topics%3ABattery&fs=Search&pn=1

The last option listed on that web page is to contact FitBit Customer Service.

You may need to replace the battery in your FitBit. Note: Rechargeable batteries do not last forever and eventually need to be replaced.

Best wishes.

New Fitbit blaze fully charged will not work when in watch screen only comes on when on charge

How to Charge Fitbit Blaze: Step-By-Step
  • Plug in the charging cable into the USB port of your computer.
  • Find the tracker from the wristband. To do so, impulse the screen slightly so that it removes from the frame.
  • Place the tracker inside the charging cradle with the screen in front of you and the four gold prongs associated.
  • Adjacent the cradle cover.
  • Watch for a large battery icon that acts momentarily on display to let you know that charging has in progress. It gives a hint of how low your battery is to start, and a small battery icon persists in the top left corner while charging so you can check progress. When the green battery icon is fulfilled, then your Fitbit Blaze is fully charged.

Good question, are we referring to the Fitbit Zip?
If so I would remove the battery for 10 seconds then replace, this will restart the unit.

The Fitbit One tracker is powered by a rechargeable built-in battery. To charge your Fitbit One, align the gold contacts on your tracker with the gold contacts on the inside of the charging cable, then plug it into your computer's USB port or any other USB charging device.
