E3 error code and a lot of vibration when working. I had a technician check the unit and the E3 error code is for the motor. The motor is working fine though and the tech said I needed a new control board. Does anyone know the part number for this control board or if this is the problem.

“E3” code – Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)
Possible causes of ‘E3’ codes: 1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause. 2. Hall Sensor fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3” code in the worst case, or “SUdS” if it is only getting a partial rpm reading. Check wire harness connector(s) to motor.

3. A poor connection – Check wire harness connector to motor. Unplug connector and pull on each wire. If a wire connector comes loose from the plug, bend locking tab up

NOTE: If a locking tab is not properly seated in the plug connector, the terminals will not fully engage as the connector is plugged into the Motor Terminal Block. Inspect the terminals on the motor side of the connector. Straighten any bent terminals if they exist. Recheck the harness side of the terminal block if any bent terminals are found. Bent terminals can indicate a problem with the locking tab inside the plug

Reconnect harness plug to Motor Terminal Block. Run washer through a quick service cycle (wash and spin) to check motor operation.
see if that helps..... else u might have to replace the board....

the manufacturers number for ur model is 34001496

MY SAMSUNG WASHER HAS AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAYS E3 AND IT WONT SPIN

I did an internet search on your error code. I found the following for a 3E code (as opposed to the E3 code you mentioned)...I kept looking and eventually found something for E3:

3E code - Motor tacho fault detected Can also be caused by be main PCB
If the motor tacho signals are inputted less than 2 for 2 seconds after main drive motor started, this error will occur.
  • Check motor
  • Check motor tacho
  • Check all connections and blocks to the motor
  • Check connections on the main control module
  • Check main control module

E3 code The "E3" error indicates that a Samsung washer's motor is not running properly. The cycle can usually be restarted by pressing the "Start/Pause" button. However, if the error code appears again, you should contact an authorized service technician.

Hope this helps.

Error code in the top zone E3

An E-3 error code on your product indicates a problem with the DC fan in the upper zone. Your issue could be with the fan motor, control board or connecting wire harness. A DC motor can not be ohmed out like an AC motor, so if you detrmine the motor is not running, check for DC voltafe at the motor connections. If there is 12 to 24VDC, then you have a bad motor. If no voltage is present, check the output on the board. Before replacing an expensive circuit board, you may want to have a professional service tech come out and diagnose your problem. ***ALWAYS remove electrical power from the product when removing panels to gain access to components, and also when putting the panels back in place.

We are getting error code E3. What does this mean

Looks like you have either a stuck drum (does not spin) or an electrical fault that make the washer think the drum is not moving.

From a 2006 Technical Bulletin:

E3: Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)

Specifically, it could be:

1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause.
2. Hall Sensor (integral part of motor) fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3” code in the worst case, or “SUdS” if it is only getting a partial rpm reading. Check wire harness connector(s) to motor.

Unless you are really overloading your machine you likely have an electrical fault, or a failure in the drive train--especially if the problem is intermittent. Probably time to call in a technician.

Code E3

The Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tachometer response or motor action. It could have a failed tachometer/hall sensor which is part of the motor, failed motor or machine control. It could be a loose wire connection at the motor or at the machine control board. This type of failure will require a technician to diagnose and repair your washer. I recommend calling a service technician.

Error Code E3

I have the same type of Aprilaire humidifier unit with automatic temperature sensing control. My unit also displayed the 'E3' code. The HVAC technician was on site today and replaced the temperature sensing unit that is located outside the house. The humidifier is functioning normally once again.
