Very easily so. If the connector is not physically attached to the case, the only thing securing it is the 2 or 3 solder connections to the phenolic board of about 2 mm thick. The newer RoHS compliant solders do not always alloy and flowlike the old tin/lead solders which aggravates that problem.

A defective PSU can cause such a symptom too, especially the bad electrolytics is the most common problem with these sets.
