I reset my korg x5 by HOLD PAGE+ and PAGE- and TURNING ON. But the COMBI EFFECTS WAS LOST. WAT IS THE PROPER RESET FOR KORG X5? THANK YOU.

    When i did the INTIALIZATION, the PROG,COMBI,GLOBAL & MULTI is not stopping in blinking. How will i proceed to PRELOAD??? Pls help me. Thank you.

    Preload: Global Screen 5A, then select "OK".if that doesn't work, you need to contact Korg customer service for help.

Initialization: Hold Page Down and 0 while turning it on
Preload: Disk Load (XSD00P)
ROM Check: Hold Enter and 7 while turning it on.
If banks names are lost, you need to replace the little round coin-pill from inside, which memorize settings while the instrument is off and disconnected from the power.

My X5d displayed "05 31 1995" then stopped functioning..what shall i do?
That sounds like a manufacture date being flashed. Have you checked the battery? If you can't backup first, all your changes (custom sounds) will be lost, but that might be what you are looking at. Replace the battery, or have a service center do so. You'll want to reset after.

Try ROM check first.

Initialization: Hold Page + and Page - while turning it on.
Preload: Global Screen 5A, then select "OK".
ROM Check: Hold Edit and Global/Multi while turning it on.

How to turn on en off the moulation of a korg x5d
For Combi/Multi patches you can disable control changes for each sound under EDIT 6D but this also switches off other control change instructions (pan, expression, pedal etc.).

Somewhere under GLOBAL settings you should be able to find the modulation wheel Depth setting and set it to 0 which should stop your mod wheel from working but you could achieve the same effect by just keeping the mod wheel pulled all the way down.
