Model EW23CS65GS. What does 5b error code indicate?

The machine went into alarm mode and displayed CE error on both screens. After many hours of web searching I discovered system mode. Held down Control Lock for 3 seconds and +_ for 5 seconds and got 5b on both screens. Is this the main board failure?

Looks like my control board is hooped. I "instigated" 5b by holding down the +_ myself when I was trying to get the system into a self check. The board was flashing and I was hitting the sequence as fast as I could while it was flashing on and off. So now we all know how to get it into and out of "Sabbath Mode".
Too say I am fed up with this unit is an understatement. It has frozen everything from vegetables to canned pop. Keep all your food products in the front of the shelves and too the sides of the vents to prevent freezing and spoilage of same. We use frozen meat to "protect" food and leave the back half of the top shelf full of stuff that we can throw away if it freezes up. It was shipped from the factory with a pinched water line "inside" the unit. A service call weeks after we had just bought it and all the problems are a "PITA." We thought we were buying a good product. We paid well over $3000.00 purchase price 5 years ago and now it has crapped out. There are two boards in this system. I purchased the board "under" the kick panel and I am praying that when it shows up it is the correct one that is broken. As we are in northern alberta there is no service rep for 250 km. The parts are non refundable. At about $250 this is the cheap one.

Hello Dwaine, thank you for your inquiry!
I understand that your Electrolux refrigerator is displaying an error code of 5b and you would like to know if this is a main board failure. I am not showing 5b as a valid error code; however, there is an error code of Sb. This means Sabbath mode and you can turn it off by pressing "-" on the freezer temp side and "+" on the fridge temp side. This should turn off the Sabbath mode.
I have also included a link to the manual for the refrigerator EW23CS65GS. On page 13 you will see Sabbath mode feature and the instructions on how to disable it. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Er-FS error code: Failure of freezer sensor.
I have been finding the fuseable link in the defrost system on these models open preventing the defrost cycle.
This would involve removing the freezer back panel and removing the sensor and fuse from the evaporator.
It's just a plug in.

SOURCE: I just replace my control board and freezer fan. I

I just fixed mine. With the PE00 0000 flashing press and hold the door alarm key, press the freezer down (-) button and hold, then release the door alarm button. after about a second release the freezer down button and the display should change to a steady PE00 0000 after about 3 seconds. Using the refrigerator + - buttons you change the code. The freezer + - buttons now control the position of the decimal point to change each number position. My code was 0302 (found on the sticker on the inside of the frig, right hand upper side. I had to follow the programming code found behind the kick plate on the right side twice, the second time it worked.

SOURCE: Same prblem as person who listed Alarm going off

I ended up buying the parts from Electrolux - cost $384 plus tax. The repair is relatively easy and you can do it yourself. My problem was locating the main power board - who would have thought it would be behind the front kick plate attached to the bottom of the refrigerator.

SOURCE: SY CE error on Electrolux Refrigerator Display. I

I have a very similar issue with my GE in wall oven, circa 1999. I learned it was due to one of two issues.
    1. The touch panel keypad is shorting out somewhere along the ribbon wire circuit. Replacement likely needed.
    2. The microcontroller brain of the oven is faulty. Replacement likely needed.
My issue was the keypad. I personally went to RadioShack and prototyped a new circuit board to reverse engineer the keypad. The flimsy keypad replacement was $244.00 for a new one, however they no longer make the keypad. For less than $20 and a little solder I have a fully functioning replacement.

I bought a watch for my grandson. It had no instructions. It is from China MFG# FMDAW549. Are there directions available

    Possibly these instructions:

    http://forums.watchnet.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=110449&rid=0

DIGITAL WATCH USER INSTRUCTIONS May 27, 2006 - 05:59 PM On 5/26/2006 I bought from Walmart a $6.43 watch, on the back of which is written "AH 1175, 52, Battery CR2025, China Module, FMD, Base Metal Bezel, Stainless Steel Back, 100ft Water Resistant". It has no control buttons on top (where buttons may be accidentally pushed), the display is larger and more visible, and the color is dark, so I bought it even though I prefer models that have a fabric/velcro wrist-strap.
Four buttons on this watch are labelled: Light, Mode, Reset, and St/Sp. The instructions which I found inside its container refer to the Light button as A, the Mode button as B, the Reset button as C, and the Start/Stop button as D, but otherwise do not pertain to the watch, so I determined the button's functions by trial and error, as follows:
    --
    TO SELECT THE DISPLAY MODE
Push the Mode Button in order to select one of the following four display modes in the following order: Normal Time, Stop Watch, Alarm Reset, Time Reset.
In the Normal Time Mode, the Day of Week, the Hour, Minute and Second are displayed (none flash). If the Alarm and Hourly Chime icons are not displayed, the Alarm and Hourly Chime are turned off.
    --
TO DISPLAY DAY OF WEEK, HOUR, MINUTE, SECOND AND WHETHER THE ALARM AND HOURLY CHIMES ARE ON:
Push the Mode button until no icon is flashing. The Alarm and Hourly Chimes are off if no Alarm or Chime icon is displayed beside the Second display.
    --
TO DISPLAY THE DAY, MONTH AND DAY OF WEEK AND WHETHER THE ALARM AND HOURLY CHIMES ARE ON:
In Normal Time Mode, push the Start/Stop button. The Alarm and Hourly Chimes are off if no Alarm or Chime icon is displayed.
    --
    TO DISPLAY THE ALARM TIME
In Normal Time Mode, push the Reset button. The P or A beside the Alarm Time indicates PM or AM time. The P or A below the Alarm Time indicates a 12 hour clock; an H indicates a 24 hour clock.
    --
TO STOP/START THE ALARM AND HOURLY CHIMES
In Normal Time Mode, hold the Start/Stop button down and push the Reset button (the Date and Day of Week will be displayed) to turn the preset Alarm and Hourly Chimes on, or off (to save the battery). To test the alarm, hold the Reset button down. The alarm and chimes are off when the alarm and chimes icons are not displayed.
    --
    TO STOP THE HOURLY CHIME
In Normal Time Mode, hold down the Reset button (the Alarm Time will be displayed) and push the Mode button until the Day of Week display is no longer highlighted; otherwise the hourly chime drains the battery.
    --
    TO SET THE TIME
To Fast/Forward until the correct number is displayed, hold the Start/Stop button down.
To set the Month of the Year, select the Time Reset Mode and push the Reset button until the Month of the Year number flashes; push the Start/Stop button until the correct Month of the Year is displayed and push the Reset Button.
To set the Day of Month, select the Time Reset Mode and push the Reset button until the Day of Month number flashes; push the Start/Stop button until the correct Day of Month is displayed and push the Reset Button.
To set the Day of Week, select the Time Reset Mode and push the Reset button until the Day of Week display flashes; push the Start/Stop button to until the correct Day of Week is displayed and push the Reset Button.
To set the Hour, select the Time Reset Mode and push the Reset button until the Hour number flashes; push the Start/Stop button until the correct Hour is displayed and push the Reset Button. For a 24 hour clock, push the reset button until an H is displayed. For a 12 hour clock, push the reset button until an A or P is displayed.
To set the Second, select the Time Reset Mode and push the Reset button until the Second number flashes. The Second number resets to Zero everytime the Start/Stop button is pushed. If the Start/Stop button is pushed as soon as the Second hand on your computer and watch are the same, the watch will be accurate to one second (to set your computer time to the second, log on to the Internet, right click on your PC's time display, select ADJUST DATE/TIME, INTERNET TIME, UPDATE NOW). The setting of the Second number will not be affected by setting the Minute number afterwards.
After the Second number is set, set the Minute number by selecting the Time Reset Mode and pushing the Reset button until the Minute number flashes; push the Start/Stop button until the correct Minute is displayed and push the Reset Button.
    --
TO SET THE ALARM TIME AND TURN ON THE ALARM
Choose the Alarm Reset Mode. The alarm is turned on everytime the Alarm time is reset.
To select the Hour, push the Start/Stop button while the Hour is flashing and until the correct Hour is displayed, then push the Reset button (the Alarm and Hourly Chime icons will appear).
To select the Minute, push the Start/Stop button while the Minute is flashing and until the correct Minute is displayed, then push the Reset button.
Push the Mode button after the correct Alarm Time has been selected. The Alarm and Hourly Chime icons will be displayed beside the Second numbers.
The P icon indicates PM. The A icon indicates AM. The H icon indicates a 24 hour clock.
    --
    TO USE THE STOP WATCH
Choose the Stop Watch Mode. Push the Start/Stop button to begin the lap time. To pause the Stop Watch push the Start/Stop button to stop it and push it again to continue. To reset the Stop Watch to zero, stop the lap time by pushing the Start/Stop button, then push the Reset button (otherwise the Stop Watch will continue counting after other Modes are selected).

How do I fix this problem: The OK light flashes. The washing machine worked for an hour but then this problem happened.

Obviously, an alarm is displayed after some time.
The alarm is displayed by a repeated flashing sequence of the START / PAUSE button with yellow and red light (0,5 seconds on, 0,5 seconds off with a 2,5 second pause between the sequences).
    • button indicator START / PAUSE with yellow light indicates the first digit of the alarm code (family)
    • button indicator START / PAUSE with red light indicates the second digit of the alarm code (internal number of the family).

My frigidaire gallery refrigerator model number DGUS2645LF3 is showing an error code "5b" and nothing inside works.

    Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You are in the Sabbath Mode.

The Sabbath Mode is a feature that disables portions of the refrigerator and its controls in accordance with observance of the weekly Sabbath and religious holidays within the Orthodox Jewish community.
Sabbath Mode is turned ON and OFF by pressing and holding "?" on freezer temp and "?" on refrigerator temp for five seconds. The display shows "Sb" while in Sabbath mode.
In the Sabbath Mode, the High Temp alarm is active for health reasons. If a high temperature alarm is activated during this time, for example due to a door left ajar, the alarm will sound intermittently for about 10 minutes. The alarm will then silence on its own and a red high temperature icon will display. The high temp icon will continue to display, even if the door is closed, until the Sabbath mode is exited and the icon reset. The refrigerator will function normally once the door is closed, without any violation of the Sabbath/Holidays.
If this does not solve the problem you have a bad control board.

    Codes sy ce refrigerator display

Good Afternoon Johnny, thank you for your inquiry! Error code SY CE, commonly refers to a communication error at power up. Let's try resetting the refrigerator by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn on the unit. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, than the unit could possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the control board or a faulty user interface board. In this regard, I would recommend reaching out to an expert technician to ensure the appropriate replacement part is ordered.
