if it is a pressure release this may be the part
http://www.appliancespares.co.za/5949/tedelex%20pressure%20cooker%20lid%20lock%20pressure%20valve.aspx
Would suggest contacting appliance spares and see if it is the part you need ?

Looking for replacement lid for the Rival 5-quart model SCE500, do you have it?

Hello, Dede -

The Fixya.com website does not sell any replacement parts for anything. It is a website where volunteers do their best to answer questions on fixing things.

This web site advertises the lid (only) for your Rival Crock Pot:
http://www.aorrshop.xyz/cookers-steamers-c-10_1294_1295_1299/rival-crockpot-model-sce500-lid-only-p-12318.htm

You also may be able to find the correct replacement lid here:
http://www.marbeck.com/rival-crock-pot-parts/?sort=bestselling
or, maybe here:

I have a 12 qt. used Mirro pressure canner The pressure valve is round and has no numbers on it. How do I determine how much pressure when in use ? It did not come with a manual.

There is a round, rather heavy metal cap sort of thing that fits on the pressure stem and regulates the pressure. Most of the canners have one that can be rotated to different holes for different pressures. You can replace this here

http://www.pressurecooker-outlet.com/Mirro-Pressure-Cooker-Parts.htm Mirro Pressure Cooker Parts

Look under pressure regulators. You might also consider replacing the rubber gasket. Your model number is probably engraved on the bottom of the pan.

Oval lid, what is the correct fit, should it be a tight fit, or my just sits on top, there is a small space around.

You should have a fit that has a little wiggle room, including a little space around the edge of the lid. When you cook in a slow cooker, you'll make a bit of steam, and it needs room to escape. A super tight lid would likely end up 'burping', and possibly spraying spurts of whatever your sauce is, across your kitchen. Having that small groove there also leaves you a space where a bit of steam can condense and either trickle back into the pot to keep things moist, or just sit there in the gap and not drip all over your counter. Having a little bit of give also means that if you cook and let things cool, the condensing steam won't create a partial vacuum and leave you having to plant a foot on the side of the crock pot to pull the lid off (likely with more spectacular spew-age ready for viral videos).

Cheers!

Why doesn't my cover fit tightly? 5.5 Qt Rival Crock Pot - lid does not fit tightly and hot water is bubbling and spitting out of the crock pot making a mess and an unsafe situtation...help! Is this a...

There's nothing you need to do differently except place the cooker where a little splashing won't hurt anything. This is typical of all crock pots. The cover fits loosely because it must allow steam to escape. When water turns to steam, it expands. If not allowed to escape, the steam pressure would explode the vessel. The simplest and cheapest way to let the steam escape is to let the lid lift freely. Some of the steam re-condenses into water as it escapes, and then it sputters and splashes as more steam comes out. They could make a more complex system to control the mess, but then a crock pot would be bigger, more expensive, and harder to wash. I know this might not be the answer you hoped for, but it's a truthful answer to your question so I hope you'll rate it accordingly.
