The word prime means that you have to fill the unit first so that all air is removed

check for some sort of bleed valve /screw at the top

fill the unit first then connect it all up

all these sort of instructions will be in the user manual for you to follow

Saeco, Gaggia, Spidem VENTILATE, Prime what is mean, how to perfrom

Ventilate or priming or else loading all means the filling the machine system full with water, like pump, piping and boiler. This must perform first time of starting up the machine.
It will also appear if the water system in not full of water especially after the steam preparation some steam can be blocked in the system and the machine recognized it by luck in the pressure.
Another reason that ventilate it appears on screen is because air have been insert and blocked in the water system usually from water filter or water softener located in water tank.
So here how you Ventilate or Priming or loading:
Place a container beneath the steam tube.
Turn the knob counter clockwise to start loading the circuit.
Wait until a steady stream of water flows out from the nozzle.
Turn the knob clockwise
to terminate the circuit loading process.
Remove the container. The machine is warming
up; lights are flashing.
Note: You must load the circuit before starting up
the machine for the first time, if it has been inoperative
for a lengthy period or if the water tank has
been completely emptied. The circuit must also be
loaded each time the light flashes

Saeco vienna plus red solid light cannot prime water line

Make certain the line from the water resource is cleaned and not obstructed. If the pump fails to move the water from the reservoir to the heating tank, then the pump needs to be replaced.

Blue flashing light and says prime

The PRIME is important. If you looses the prime, you cannot lift the water up and into the reservoir for heating and eventually flowing to the Kcup and beyond. Full the Water container all of the way to the line (not over), prime as per the manual, with the handle fully engaged, see if that fixes the problem.

Is prime the same as descale

I knew the paperclip trick, I tried the air shot to reverse the flow of water. After running Vinegar and water through and letting sit overnight. I tried the air blast then make a cup, another blast X 4....though I get a good flow through the K-cup area, I still only get 2/3 cup of water.

Starbucks Sirena espresso flashing blue light & does not heat up

Gary,

I have the same exact problem with mine starting today, did you get this figured out? I'd love to know if it's fixable or not as I was planning on selling my previous machine. If it's an expensive repair, I'll just have to ditch this one and go back to my previous one.

I had the this same issue and made a post to this thread, in that post I had this solution to my conditions.

The combination of actions that seem to work was turning the Saeco on while the steam valve was already open and selecting hot water once the Saeco was powered on. The prime light went out, I closed the steam valve
