As far as I know, the original zd8000 operating system is Windows XP. If you have Windows 7 installed, then you need to get Windows 7 disc and its product key. If you need the Windows XP reinstallation media, then you can use HP Windows XP reinstallation disc only (for example: HP Windows XP Professional with SP2 disc).
If you have the CD for Windows XP then you should just insert the disc and begin installation, upon installation they will ask for a product key. If you do not have the CD you can always go onto www.Windows.com and they will have a download for Windows XP, Download it and it will ask for an product key.
Hi marec2009 Unfortunately , you don't tell us what device is concerned with this compatibility problem . If nothing works , uncluding troubleshooting in compatibility XP , the only way to get out of the issue is a workaround : installing a virtual version of XP on your machine but you can do it only under restricted conditions : You are running Windows 7 Ultimate , or Professional or Entreprise : you can download and install a free virtual version of Win XP from : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx Other versions : .If you have the W XP install disc , you can install a virtual version of W XP on your machine from http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ If you still have the install disc , you can also partition your primary and install W XP on the new partition from http://download.cnet.com/Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html.Back up your data first.
The only thing you can really do is purchase a new Product key from Microsoft. I am sure that if you search the internet you could find a product key, but given that it is illegal I wouldn't suggest it.
The disc or the case should have the product key if you bought it alone. If you purchased a computer with Windows pre-installed the cd key should be on a sticker on your computer somewhere. If you just downloaded and burned Windows XP Service Pack 2 you could purchase the key from Microsoft online.
To use it with Windows Vista, install the software for Windows Vista.
