Try going to another location. If the batteries are still on and your old headset is nearby, it may be blocking your device from "seeing" the new headset because it is connected to your old headset which is lost but near by.
How to pair Bluetooth headphones to IPAD?
Most headsets have a power button or a switch to turn the device on. Press the "Pairing" button on your Bluetooth headset, if necessary. Select your headset from the Devices list on the iPad's Bluetooth window. Enter the passkey or PIN for your headset, if prompted.
I think what you are asking is how to connect the headphones to the iphone via Bluetooth.
switch on the headphones Bluetooth....go to general settings in iphone ... Switch on iphone Bluetooth....then choose detect devices....when it finds the headphones... Click "pair" ...it will let you know if pairing was successful.once it remembers the device you won't need to do all that again next time you want to use the headphones.now and again you will need to charge the headset up.

Connect iPhone and the headset to the dock or cable. The headset pairs with iPhone automatically.

blue. If it's not flashing red and blue, it's not in the pairing mode. Below is a link for the user guide which has the pairing instructions:

Delete the device from the phone, then re-pair the headphones with the phone. If you just turn on the headphones, the device cannot connect because the headphones store the information that you already deleted it on the phone. To pair again with the other device (like a computer, phone, etc) you need to turn off the headphones, then turn on the headphones but press the power/pair button and hold until the led flashes red and blue (like 10 sec after the led turn only blue) to put it in discovery mode. Then turn on your phone and follow the instructions for finding (discovering) your bluetooth headset.
I managed to pair the device after plugging the bluetooth headset into the USB power slot. Then I press the main button for 5 secs until the red light started flashing very rapidly and I typed in 0000 and the headset paired off with my Iphone. Good luck
