SE w910i with big problem!!!!!!

here are some suggestions,,see if they help

There is a small plastic switch on the side of the memory card, slide it the other way. This sounds wierd but it happens often, people accidently hit it with their fingers and slide it, so suddenly everything becomes write protected

Probalbly the upper fuser roller has some of the film torn off. Look close with a flashlight through the back of the machine.

Sounds more like an out of paper response rather than a jamb. Make sure the pickup roller can actually catch the paper. Use a polymit to roughen the rollers slightly in the slot where the paper is contained. If you take the paper out and look down the slide that holds the paper you will see two or sometimes 3 rollers They can become shiny and fail to grab the paper. Make sure you use proper printing paper and not photocopy paper as this is the stuff that has resinous coating that causes rollers to become shiny.

To also ensure that there is not a tiny piece of paper covering the detection eye for paper jamb use a piece of stiff card and run it through the paper path with a little assistance from you pushing it while the roller turns. This will often remove any tiny bits of paper or waxy substance from the eye.

The phone lock code protects your phone against unauthorized use if it is stolen and the SIM card is exchanged. To be able to switch the phone on, you need to enter the four-digit phone lock code. The Sony Ericsson default phone lock code is '0000', but you can change this to any 4-8-digit personal code. When you buy the phone, the phone lock is by default turned off.
Note: For security reasons, your operator, retailer or Sony Ericsson Contact Center cannot retrieve the lock code through the phone or the network. If you forget the code, locked phones must be sent to a service centre.

My phone have problems :

1. when i try to open games or application list from desktop, the phone display "operation failed"

2.the Walkman icon on desktop cannot be executed , same with the Walkman button ( when i press the button or icon , nothing happen)

3.the "operation failed" msg are also diplay when im trying to run SensMe function

Can i do the formating on my own computer? how to do it? will it fix the current problem? or is there any other method i can use without formatting?

Transmitter as accessory I presume as W910 has no built in transmitter. Could be incompatibility issue. Reinstall fware using SEUS (SE Update Service).

Some of the Sony Ericson phones have a little slider that slides back over the SIM card. This slider takes a bit of force, but be careful. Hold down the SIM and slide the retainer over the edge if the SIM.

First of all, try to back up your info on your phone, i.e. save all your contacts to your SIM card, download SE PC Suite 4.0.10.00 from SE website, download MyPhoneExplorer 1.7.2 from Majorgeeks (all latest versions), and backup all info - rather 2 or 3 places than losing everthing! Download Update Service from SE website - follow instructions on screen. Even if you have the same / latest version firmware, re-install it. It solved all my problems - some same as yours.
Good luck. I now enjoy my SE W910i more than I did any other phone before.

Softpedia has claimed France Telecom owend mobile operator is recalling the first shipment of Sony Ericsson W910i’s. This is due to Orange customers having problems with the Sony Ericsson W910i phone; the mobiles apparently have some serious problems with basic functionality, resulting in them turning off after just ten seconds and thus not answering any calls.
Irate and unsatisfied customers are returning their W910i’s to Orange extremely quickly, to which the carrier is supplying a new mobile phone to replace the faulty one. However many of them returned again a few days later stating that the replacement also had the same faults!
With many people eagerly awaiting the W910i Walkman, it would be a great shame if Sony Ericsson doesn’t get it sorted as soon as possible so that once it again becomes available it runs as smoothly as possible.
