I have just installed a brand new motor on my Horizon Fitness CST3.5 treadmill but I can't get the treadmill working again. When I switch the machine on the console works and the motor will begin to turn the belt but it cuts out after a few seconds. I have tried disconnecting the belt from the motor to see if that was causing the problem but the same thing happens, the motor spins but then stops within seconds. Can anyone help me fix this?
No motor starter .... Rather a controller. Of you replaced the motor why was that and did a bad motor stress that controller? Model and year would help, also look for a small potentiometer on horizon boards that can be adjusted cw, clockwise gently and retry. Also, have you gotten the machine to calibrate? Unplugging cables and powering up can be fatal to some controllers. Missing roller feedback or encoder will also kill belt drive, these controllers are intelligent as to not cause injuries. Good luck.
Sounds like a faulty motor starter if equipped or motor it self faulty.
