Tap the end of the bit a couple of times with a light hammer. This will often shift it.

How do I load the drill bits in the keyles chuck of my Metabo impact drill Model SBE 561?

Keyless chucks work one of two ways
1: Simply turn the chuck by hand to loosen or tighten drill bit, once it grips the drill bit you will not be able to turn it anymore
2: Some keyless chucks operate by pulling the chuck back towards the body of the drill, placing the drill bit in and then releasing the chuck back to its original position

I can't release the bit from the chuck.

If it is jammed then hold the bit in a vice and try to knock the chuck off with a cold chisel or suitable piece of brass. then you can remove the chuck screw and replace the chuck. You should not be able to see the bearings underneath.

How do you release the bits to change sizes

It is a keyless chuck. You should be able to grab the main body of the chuck and turn it to the left to release the bit. You can also hold the main body of the chuck and run the tool slowly in reverse whcih will also release the bit.

Screwdriver bit is stuck in chuck

Hello, W/D here.
Spray some penetrating oil in the chuck alongside the bit. Work the chuck back and forth, attempting to get a little slack in the chuck. Rapping along the side of the chuck with a plastic hammer will help, but use a regular hammer if you don't have a plastic one, just don't hit quite as hard. Tap the bit to loosen it, and continue to tap along the chuck, working back to the bit every so often. Eventually, the bit will release, and you have already lubricated the jaws of the chuck. Operate the chuck fully once the bit is released to free up the jaws. It will work like new.
Best regards, --W/D--

How do you lock the bits in?

Insert sds bit into chuck with slots/slot matching slot in chuck while pulling back on the spring loaded nose. If the bit does not catch try turning/rotating bit to lock. When you release the nose, a pin will drop into the indention on bit and prevent it from falling out during use. Sometimes this pin will break or wear-out thus the bit will not catch. Before you insert the bit, look into chuck for retaining pin. Pulling back on the spring loaded chuck releases pressure on the pin and allows insertion of bit. I have a drill bit stuck in my drill and I can not get it out of the chuck How can it be released from the chuck that I can change to an other drill bit.

By stuck do you mean that you can not release the chuck? if so then you can use 2 channel lock pliers to grip the chuck and the base to break it free. i have done the same on a keyed chuck and a keyless chuck .

Hi,

the Chuck should be 2 Part.

Use 2 pair of stillsons Or pipe wrenches, Tight On the 2 Chuck Parts, Crack in opposite Directions.

Alternative, Use Wrench On Chuck Jaw, Short sharp Blow With Hammer.
