Dell inspiron laptop 1545 administrator password won't unlock

Lock out because i don't know or remember my administrator passoword....i bought it second hand so how to i go about fixing this issue

You need to do a factory reset.press F8 and select repair my computer and then choose option for factory recovery

What's the version of your Windows OS? You can use the most freeware Offline NT & Password Registry, or other recovery tools:

Will it boot into the operating system or is it stuck at the bios password?
If it is the Windows administrator password then I'll need more information such as what version of Windows you are on. If it is Linux then let me know.

If it is stuck with a bios/boot password then you'll need to reset it by removing the CMOS battery for a few seconds. This will clear any settings in the BIOS setup.

I would first try resetting using software, here are two software apps to reset or retrieve BIOS passwords.

What is the default password for Dell Inspiron running windows vista
Well, forgot Dell windows password?

I don't know Dell's default password, however I know how to reset the windows vista password.

Three ways:
1. Another valid administrator account which can normally log on.
2. A password reset disk or a repair disc, which is created in advance ( before you lost password ).
3. Third-party software to create a bootable password reset CD/DVD or USB, like Windows Password Reset .

there is no default password for that you will need to open up the laptop and remove the cmos battery inside to bring the bios back to its factory settings (without password). sometimes tho dell will add password , dell , or admin as a password. but thats usually for laptops and pcs they sell in bulk to businesses

You can get a Password Reset disc download and burn to CD. Copy/paste the address below, into your address bar of your browser.

Download this file and burn it to CD. Put into drive and turn on PC, and boot from the CD. Follow instructions, choose the correct USER. & BLANK the password. make sure you say OK to write the data, and reboot. The logon password will now be reset blank.
