Coffee is getting stuck in the shoot between the grinder and basket so coffee is very weak

I have change grinding from 7 to 1 ( it depends from coffee beans) and quality of coffee get much better (knob located inside the bean container).

have you tried adjust coffee strenght?

These are notorious for this problem. It is cause by the coffee grinder portion wearing out and sticking. After a while the grinder will fuse to the basket. It is cause by the spinning of the grinder and wear to the grinder shaft or coffee grounds getting into the shaft and causing wear. Either wan the only fix is a new basket.Send Cuisinart an email to complain and they may give you a new one free. I went through 3 before I gave up on the grind and brew model.

I've solved my problem. Called Cuisinart customer service and spoke with a rep. The filter basket must be aligned. Shouldn't push down when putting basket into position. Also, cleaning underneath the bean grinder with pipe cleaner helped.

Stuck? how stuck can it be when it is supposed to be removable? Try turn ing it,

Open the reservoir lid. Remove the grinder basket lid by using the recessed area on each side of the lid. Then remove Grinder Basket. Open Filter Basket Door. Remove Filter Basket Cover, Filter Basket and Filter Basket holder. The grinder basket, grinder basket lid, filter basket and filter basket cover can be washed in warm soapy water and rinsed thoroughly, or cleaned in the upper rack of the dishwasher. Dry all parts after every use.

I suffered with a stuck grider unti for a long time and just solved the problem..... Remove the filter basket and through the front door look up twords the back left. You can see where the grinder unit sits. There is a slot area where you can stick a screw driver under the grinder unit and pry it up. Do this in a jiggling motion and make sure you are well under the grinding unit, doing so on the edge of the grinder unit underneath will not give you enough suface to work with, in fact you will just bend or crack the edge. Looking in from low on the front (kneeling on floor with unit on counter, worked for me) will let you locate where the screw driver or smal pry tool needs to go. Mine was stuck for a very long time and No amount of pulling or prying from the top would work, I made it pop out in a matter of seconds using this technique from the bottom! a little cooking oil on the shaft before you insert the grinder will help, spray on pam works well and is easy to do...

The simple fact with any espresso making is that to get good coffee you MUST:

1. Grind your own freshly ground beans - grind matters alot. With a good grinder (a burr grinder, not a spice mill). This probably makes the most difference.
2. Pack the coffee properly using a solid heavy tamper (not the flimsy things you get with the machines)
3. Buy good coffee - shop coffee is old and stale. If you have to buy shop coffee get something like Illy - its much better than the others.
4. Ensure the machine is hot, and also that the portafilter is hot (leave it in there when not in use). Cold machine == sour coffee
5. Dose the coffee properly.
6. Adjust the above until the time taken to pull a shot is approx 23 seconds - you may need to 'sacrifice' some coffee to get to this point.
7. And in my opinion only use a double basket - single baskets are hard to use, don't pack well are weak, and inconsistent. A double basket uses more coffee but you get a way better result, more often.

Sounds like a lot of work, but the difference is huge. I used to use pre-ground coffee from a shop and it was prety bad. As soon as i took it more seriously and invested in the right gear and the right coffee - well i can make coffee at home that is significantly bettter than anything i get in coffee shops and restaraunts.

Put the whole brewer in your refrigerator freezer for 2 hours. The coffee basket then will come off. Take the entire brewer unit to your shower and rinse it thoroughly. Now look at the basket and where it goes on the brewer. You will see a little spindle and 2 sets of helical gears. Spread white lithium lube on the spindle and the gears. It won't get in your coffee because it's nowhere near the water flow. This should solve the stuck basket problem.
