Our upper wheel failed. It is part of the huge assembly called the "Rack Adjust" on our model # PLD4460REC Frigidaire Dishwasher and cost $88 to $120. Hey.. thanks to the guy above I was able to fix my machine without spending to much!! for a huge part when all I needed was the upper wheel. the part # for the upper wheels is = PS976006 and is for another model dishwasher (Sears located it for me first.. without trying to make me buy the huge assembly) but might work... I will order and give them a try. The model # referenced about seems to be incorrect... We used model # PLD2855RFC1... as google helped us fill in the missing part# letters. I asked frigidaire... why they encouraged customers to borrow this small part from the store display.. why not just sell it!! .;)
The top rack is not cleaning because of low water pressure from the wash motor to the upper spray arm. Assuming
the top spray arms are clear of debris, remove the lower spray arm to
access the wash motor. Remove the 4 torx screws and the filter
(accumulator assembly). Remove the torx screw and the inlet protector
that covers the chopper assembly. Make sure the chopper is not broken
(broken chopper will fill with debris and block water flow). While
holding the chopper blade, reach inside the "D" shaped opening on top
of the motor and spin the wheel/motor by hand in each direction to make
sure either the chopper gear or the motor gear that drives the chopper
is not broken. Replace the chopper if necessary (part # 8268383). If
the motor gear is broken, replace the sump and motor assembly (part #
8535150). Remove any debris from the sump area in the process. You
don't have to shut the power off to the dishwasher because the door will be open, but if you feel more
comfortable, do so. Good luck!
I assume that the bottom rack is level and the upper rack is not.
On the LG dishwashers, you can remove the upper rack by removing the little gray clip at the front of the rails. Each will fall off in your hands. You can then pull the basket out.
Place it on the floor and confirm that all wheels roll properly and all touch evenly. Resolve any problems on the rack via LG service parts.
Inspect the rails still inside the dishwasher, confirm that they are paralel and level.
Replace the upper basket carefully, making sure the wheels all slide into the rail evenly.
Please update me on what was done to finally resolve the problem.
