Very low volume from my technics sl6 even when tuner is turn up to max. volume.

Hello, here are a few things to try and maybe solve your problem. Firstly as stated in a previous post, make sure the turntable is connected to the "phono" input of the amplifier. Depending upon age of the amp, you may have the option of selecting "mm" or "mc". Assuming you're using a moving magnet type p-mount cartridge and stylus (the sl6 uses a p-mount fitting as opposed to the half inch fitting in a headshell as seen on a technics 1210 or 1200 for example), select "mm" if that option is available. Now try.
If you have a more recent amplifier, some companies such as Cambridge, do not fit the "phono stage" card in the factory and it is an optional extra you need to purchase (even though there are a pair of rca phono sockets on the back marked up as "phono". Check to make sure you have a phono card or phono "stage" fitted.
Check also that you have not left your headphones connected or that you have not left an addaptor in the headphone socket as you will be hearing the volume coming out of the headphones rather than the speakers. If you have left a hedphone adaptor in the socket, you'll be hearing any "bleed through" in the amplifier's different circuits and possibly the noise directly from the cantilever.
Some amplifiers have a "speaker select" switch or knob or a "speakers on/off" selector. Make you have selected speakers on and if applicable, the correct set of speakers.
Also make sure the rca connectors are firmly in place at the back of the turntable.
Try all these out and let us know your results.

Hiya, first and foremost, is it plugged into the amps correct sockets? Turnatables have to in the PHONO (turntable) Any others , CD, AUX, MIC etc will not work. (sorry if that seems obvious, wasnt sure on the info provided)

If that is OK then check the stylus, probably requires a new stylus or/and cartridge.
