Jvc HD-61FN97 has red and green pixels all over screen and no sound in dig. TV mode.

It has to be in the menu for setup, select menu and start looking for Catv, cable or such versus antenna or air.

may need the remote that came with the set but usually you can call menu up and go thru and find the setting for cable or antenna/air.

Aside from the customer controls you might be able to turn the screen controls up a bit to get more brightness, they are on a black block inside the set.

The most common problem with JVC LCD rear projection TV is bulb failure. Do not panic, this is normal after 2-5 years of use.

You can change the complete assembly or for less cost just change the bulb. Do not use Osram or other funny brand "rebuilt" or locally made bulb. Use a Philips replacement and all should be good.

Changing the bulb involves removing the lamp assembly and taking it apart like a puzzle and replacing the bulb. JVC are a little more difficult to do than most others because the wires on the original bulb are molded into the glass on the original bulb. Wires must be cut and stripped of insulation before connecting to the new bulb.

your blue componant cable is unplugged, eather on the tv, or on the cable box, 95% thats the prob, thats if you are using componant cables, those are red blue green, and red white for the audio

unplug the tv for a day and then plug it back in to see if the sound dosent come back

well, unless you are really really lucky and could find the same model at the local tip, you will need to ot\rder and replace the part through a repair center or parts center of sorts, quite costly
