How do I prepare a Samsung Chromebook to work with a Blue Intel QX3 microscope when the computer does not have a cd drive?

I bought several of these delightful toy microscopes 15 years ago and just discovered I have one left behind and would like to give it to my 8 year old grandson. I have a Samsung Chromebook that I would like to install the microscope on, but there is no cd drive, just a USB port, and the cd is for Windows. It's 15 years old. Any hope?

Sadly, no. I have the same problem too. Try getting a Windows 10 computer and searching the web for an EXE download for both microscope app and drivers.

First please realize that a Chromebook is not the same as a Windows laptop/desktop and your microscope will most likely never work on the Chromebook. This is because we are talking about two different operating systems, with the Chromebook having a very slim Google operating system, called Chrome OS, designed for mainly web browsing and using web based tools such as Google Drive.

You can try to find a driver for the microscope that you can download from the web straight onto the Chromebook. BUT remember, the driver HAS to be for the Chromebook. A Windows driver will not work!
