I have an Energizer Model CHDC7 battery charger for AA/AAA batteries. I'm not sure how to use it. Specifically, when batteries are inserted and plugged in, it displays flashing green lights over all...

Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are usually charged in pairs in consumer chargers. The CHDC7 can charge two or four batteries at a time. Their position in the charger is important (see the link at the end of this note). Each battery has a separate pair of green LEDs. There are no other LEDs on this charger. The LEDs light up to show the state of charge. Flashing means it is charging. Solid means it has reached that level of charge (ie, 1 LED = half charged, 2 LEDs = fully charged). The batteries will get warm but not uncomfortably so. After some practice you will be able to tell if they are getting too hot (which may signal a worn-out battery which should then be replaced). Like all rechargeable batteries, NiMH batteries have a finite life (measured in number of times they've been discharged and recharged). IMHO, they should also be used and charged in matched pairs. I mark them when I take them out of the box and keep them paired in use and in charging for maximum life. Yes, the devices that use 3 batteries are a pain to deal with. LOL. All details can be found on this Energiser data sheet: http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/chdc7_instructions_english.pdf

P.S. The CHDC7 remains open for charging. Closing it for storage is optional but minimizes the space it takes up.

The light unit on my fish tank will not come on ive tried chaging the bulbs but still nothing happens

Hi, First try the light on a different plug. If that doesn't work the switch is the problem. Be careful not to drop light in fish tank. (electic shock)

My wall ceiling fan's control unit UC 9051T failed. Light switch button does not work. If I replace it with some generic universal unit, do I need to replace transducer located in the fan housing also, or...

First, you didn't say you checked that the bulb worked. Is that burned out?

If bulb is ok, you will have to make sure the switch is matched with the fan (ususally a set of 4, 6 or 8 micro-switches have to be set the same in both switch and fan to be on same frequency of communication - even if you have an exact US 9051T controller).

A whole new fan is not too expensive ($100) and may be best route if you use the fan alot and it is over 7 years old - just an option.

Also, just because the light doen't work doesn't mean it is the switch transmitter that is broken, it could also be the receiver. Call the company on the website below - they will either tell you how to check or you can send everything to them and they will check for you.

Sorry for making it so difficult - I hope it is just your bulb.

I was wondering if there is a way to change the light bulb for the display numbers etc..?

hi,

yes there is. the bulb used in most display are LED's.
you can purchase the same size LED's as your unit.
you can also even change its light color. Now leds comes in many color from white, blue, lavander, red, green etc... Also it comes into many sizes.

You need some soldering experience to change the LEDs.

Hope I answered your question and don't forget to rate me.
Thank you for using FixYa!
