Hello Charles, thank you for your submission!
I understand that the element on your Frigidaire range burns high on a medium setting and it has been recently replaced. This could be a possible problem with the wiring harness or switch inside of the range. Since it could be anyone of these underlying issues I would strongly recommend having a professional technician out. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Hopefully this information can be helpful towards your repair. -Matt

SOURCE: Frigidaire Stove elements not working

First thing I would check is see if you are getting 220 volts to the stove.  Must be a constant 220.  Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: Stove won't heat

Oven was working, I had it on pre-heat, then I turned on the stove top, but the burners won't heat. When I turn on the stove top the stove makes a short BUZZ noise and the clock area lights up, when the burner is turned off all the lights go out. Please help, food prepared.
Thank You

SOURCE: heating element stays on when turned off

The thermostat (that is the dial that you turn to energize the heating elements) is the only thing that connects power to and disconnects power from the heating element. It is bad.

You can unplug the unit and remove the thermostat. Take it to a parts supplier and get a new one and install it. Your problem will go away.

What's wrong and how do I fix it?

The circuit breaker outside in the power panel for the stove has a bad breaker. It will be two breakers with their handles joined together by a pin so if one tripe it takes the other so 220 V is no longer present. When one, but not the other trips you only have 110 V. That's why the lights and clock still work but no heating elements.

Dryer only heats on medium and high settings and the medium setting is very hot. Does not heat on low at all.

If the dryer has dual or triple heating elements, one element, or the relay controlling one element, could be open circuit, ( failed). mostly likely is a failed heater element. The elements work together or separately to combine the heat settings. there could be a high and low element, that do the different ranges. it could be that when it is on medium or high, it's really a lower combination of heat, and it may not be easy to observe, but on the low settings, the chosen element is completely open and failed and provides not heat at all. if medium and high are really low and medium, and low and medium-low is really nothing, then 1 element is probably open circuit. ( failed).

1984 stove, fuses located on the top of stove/ 30amp keeps blowin

It sounds like the element has a short in it. unplug the range, and take the element out and inspect if for burn marks. check the wires going to the element to make sure they have not shorted.

Whenever I cook cream soups in my stainless steel pots, they burn on the bottom. I watch them very closely and just have the heat on medium, but they always seem to burn. I recently bought a glass pot to...

I'm assuming this is an electric stove, since that's what the picure shows. Most electric stoves turn the heating element on and off to regulate the temperature. On high the element is on almost all the time, on low it's off most of the time. The problem is that when it's on, it's on at full power, and sometimes this is enough to scorch things like milk based creme soups.

You can do two things:

First, try using a double boiler. This will put water in the lower pan and help keep the heat lower than with a regular pan. You could also try to find a pan with a very thick bottom, and try that. It might work better.

Frigidaire Dryer takes too long to dry.

First thing I would do is to take the drum out of the dryer and make sure the back is not all clogged up with lint. That is a very common problem with Frigdaire dryers. The back is where the dryer draws the heat from and it sounds like you have plenty of heat. The only place the heat will go is up and that may be why you are geting burn marks. I wold also clean out the front where the lit filter is that to gets blocked up. I think if you check all that ad clean it out good the dryer should work just fine.
